What ever happened to Andre Malherbe ??? The guy was a multi time 500cc world champion, was hated in america and crashed and was paralized in a racing accident... I googled him and got no info. did he recover???

Don't know what he is doing now , but I think his crash was in the Paris to Dakar rally. Really a shame. Great rider.

After his motocross career ended, he began to compete in off road rallies.


In 1988, while competing in the Paris to Dakar Rally he crashed and suffered serious injuries that left him paralyzed.

Hard to believe it's been 21 years.

I saw an article on another website a few months ago about a reunion of old MX racers somewhere in Europe. There were several pics of Andre and he looked pretty darn good.

He was the quintessential Euro rider...open faced helmet. elboes down and in,scard to catch massive air....but he was one of my favs.

i met andre 4 weeks ago at the Valkenswaard MXGP, he still is a real cool guy.

I saw him on the internet a few months ago he is in a wheel chair from his riding crash. He was a really great rider.
