YouTube TV price hike

Just read the price is jumping $15 to $65 Jul 30 for existing subscribers Jun 30 for new.
I got rid of Direct TV after paying $100 per month. Jumped on PSVue early, but jumped ship when they went over $60 and went to YouTube. Time to say goodbye again. Recon I will hook up the rabbit ears again.

Try an HD antennae. I am getting all the local networks in high def off a 29$ Walmart HD antennae, Plus a few other to flip through.

Most of the time I am just after the news though, this setup may not work for someone wanting cable channels. However saving 65$ on YouTube TV buys quite a few streaming services. HBO, ESPN etc.

Hulu sucks. Even when you record live tv they force you to watch commercials.

Jumped from Hulu when they price hiked. Used to be $40, then 54 then 65. Went to YouTube at 50 and now I see price hike again. $65/mo because they’re adding channels I have no interest in.

We have hulu for a few shows my wife likes, but we don't do live tv on any service. My favorite live TV channel is WHRO CREATE local public channel, lots of good cooking shows.

Exact same package along with HD antenna has kept me entertained and satisfied for the last two years.

We get Netflix from my cell phone package. I just pay an extra $4:to get 4K, plus Amazon Prime, so I'm covered there.
Really the only thing I watch on live TV is Walking Dead, MX/SX and Tucker Carlson.

From what I recall about NBC Gold, doesn't it require a subscription for each sport? In addition to MX I would also like to see bicycle racing.

Looks like streaming services are starting to do the exact thing people hated about cable/satellite companies. Forcing people to pay for 1000s of channels of shit just to get the 3-5 channels they want.

Here’s my idea:
$10/mo base fee includes only local channels
$2 per channel after that(premium channels like HBO, Showtime cost more)
$5/mo DVR fee

You can cancel/add channels at any time, so add a channel just before your favorite series’ season starts, cancel it when it’s over. I could get by for less than $25-30/mo.

They've talked about an ala carte type program you're suggesting but for some reason it never went anywhere. I would certainly be for that.

The cable/streaming companies would have to design it so they still make a profit.

I have had YoutubeTV for about 2 years now. I have liked it, but not stoked on the price increase. During football season I have added Sling (one of the packages) to get RedZone and Pac12 Network. I guess it is time to start researching again...
