This is a terrible hit for entire Midwest MX community. Terry was one of those guys who you could always count on seeing at the track, and you could tell being around him how much he loved the sport. I will certainly remember and miss seeing him running laps with his distinct style.
Terry was one of those guy who didn't seem to be out for the fame or fortune, but rather the gratification of pushing his own limits and seeing just how fast and hard he could ride. He had the style of a bulldog, and whether it was a practice session or an amateur national, Terry was always grit before glamour, pushing himself no matter where he was racing, what place he was in, or what was on the line.
In this day in age, the truest of the old school racers is a rare breed. I can truly say that Terry was one of these guys. He raced and rode because he loved it. I hope this is one memory of Terry's that everyone who knew him can hold on to. Starting gates across the state will be missing one of the good guys. Godspeed, Terry.

Where do I start...

Terry is one of my favorite people period. I've known Terry my whole life. I have hundreds of stories about the always unprepared but pull through in the end fella. Terry lives his life to the fullest, he is a Rocker to the core. He has always been in a band and it has became his persona. His laugh, which will never be forgotten for its uniqueness, was one of my favorite things about him. The way he'd tell a joke, look around to see if anybody was laughing then start laughing himself, at which point we'd start laughing at his laugh! Just last Tuesday I got roped into helping Terry move this 1400 pound hot tub that he bought off some people. With Terry nothing ever goes as planned and the whole operation turned into a complete clusterfuck. I didn't go to the races here this past weekend so that was the last time that I had with Terry. I remember hoping out of Terry's van, when we got back to his place, to meet up with my girl friend and I Told him he owed me 30 cheese burgers for helping him. Terry always gave me a hard time for being a chunky kid until he needed some muscle. Looking back on it, I was glad to help a friend out, sure I bitched about it. but I'm glad I did it. My father, who Jim referenced to in his post on the previous page, and Terry were great friends battling it out each week on the track. My father, Terry and I have rode to many races together over the years and I'll miss those memories. I have so much to say none of it that will make any sense to you guys but FUCK. We'll, my dad and I, will miss him, but never forget him.

Sad

I've heard from someone that was there, it was a heart attack... not a crash injury.

Just what I've heard.. can't confirm.
He crashed and landed on his head.....doing an autopsy but he was awake briefly and then fell out.....pretty sure not heart attack related.....

Got ya, so you have nothing to do with MX... OK... But I don't think there would be video, or if there was it wouldn't help anyone with anything... IMHO

no nothing with MX, it may help explain what happened to such an experienced rider the moments before the crash....

I guess I highly doubt that anyone was filming the second Plus 50 moto, but there may be. Good Luck.

My condolences to Terry's family and friends. It sounds like he had a lot of good ones.

Godspeed.
