Grom or Z125?

Pros and cons on each? The Kawi seems to be a little cheaper price wise. Durability? Any modifications to look for done on each? I plan on buying used so there’s that. Post some pics if you have one as well.

I got a Z125 I'd sell cheap if you wanted it. Zoom Exhaust. 1400 miles. Just no time for it anymore.

Did the upgraded exhaust add any power?

I have two groms. I love them both. They're getting popular around here. I work at a local dealer. We've sold 6 or 7 groms in the last month and sold a grom and z125 yesterday. I tell everyone id sell all my toys before my grom. Perfomance wise, mines stock. But I have klx 110 bars with 2 inch rox risers, yosh fender eliminator and an amazon seat and maxxis knobbies. We use ours as put bikes/dual sports around here. Makes the bike 2x as fun. I highly recommend either. The z is probably just a touch faster but they're very close in power and speed.

Throttle response and spread the power throughout the whole range. I believe I have to OEM exhaust too

Try and ride or at least sit on both.
I wanted the Z125 but after sitting on it, it didn't "fit" me. I just didn't feel comfortable on it.
I also tried a newer grom which was ok but also didn't feel right.... I ended up with a 2014 as it was the most comfortable for me

Yeah I saw that the older groms have the exhaust pipe up higher?

They are pretty much the same thing, I rode both and bought the Z125pro because I couldn’t tell much of difference and it was cheaper. Now my uncle had the benelli 135 and that thing blew my z125pro away.

If you’re heavier than 100lbs you’re gonna want to upgrade the forks on the grom if you do any sort of off road riding.

I absolutely love my 14 grom. I bought it used with 77 miles on it in 2016. Fender eliminator kit klx110 bars. Dg header with custom made 14 husky tc250 silencer. Maxxis knobbies. And a Ebay carbon wind screen. That got me 2mph top speed lol. Now have over 7500 miles on it. Its 24 miles each way to work and 99% of that is 45mph speed limit so its perfect. I ride it every night I can if the temps are staying above 50 and less than a 50% chance of rain. 110 mpg and it'll cruise at 58 or so on flat road sitting upright. 61ish if I go full tuck. Love taking to races as a pit bike and its great to not have to unhook the truck from 5th wheel if I gotta run somewhere. So far tires and 1 clutch is all its taken parts wise. And 75 bucks a year to insure!
