Shock Rebuild Question

I'm going to deliver a cautious "No, you will not" to this question. Reason being....if you are properly performing the service, inspecting the parts, and properly reassembling the shock, you are performing virtually identical services as any shop, servicer, suspension dealer. With that being said I'm going to estimate that 10% of people rebuilding their shock are doing it correctly and up to a reputable builders standard, likely less. My recommendation? Unless you have a parts washer, v blocks and dial indicators, precision granite, and any necessary special tools for the specific shock, you aren't doing it properly and it should be taken to a reputable builder. In the case you don't have these tools and you take it to a builder, yes you would see a performance improvement if they service it. Hope this helps!

No way would I be servicing a shock without a proper vacuum bleeder.

DRC filling cup gets around needing the bleeder, but I never even used that... the WP shocks have a bolt on top and you can bleed them easy, or I think I might have bled through the comp adjuster.

I removed the gas reservoir, drilled it and fitted a Schrader to make charging easier.
