You can't compare football to moto. In football, for those who haven't played it, the team assembles in a locker room and gear up for the game (moto they do this mostly individually in their own rigs). In football you get set at the line face to face with your opponent as he trash talks you in your face very loudly, then the ball is snapped and you collide at full force face to face with spit and sweat flying in each other's face (in moto there is way more social distancing while you compete). After competing players return to the locker room (moto riders go to their own rigs).
I would say moto should be the first out of the gate.

Point was, moto could happen long before other sports. This should be taken advantage of.
It could without fans yes.. but there lies the problem

With or without, maybe you didn't read my post, our athletes can compete at any time, whenever the spectators can be there, other sports athletes (football) will not.

Lets asume that everything ok with athlethes, and they can start whenever it needs. But If you are spectator, and you have a choice whether to buy a bread to the table, or go to watch supercross, what will be your choice? Entertainment and luxury goods will be the first, what you are going to cut from your budget.
There will be tough times ahead for all of us

sorry jason but as much as i respected you as a racer i can not respect your atitude here.....
we all understand where all this cancelations are coming from, most of us here even agree with it...
the point is, one series was cut short and the other is not going to start as planed and the promotors only have to say the truth....races were cancelled by something out of our means, we intend to resume the missing races but as of now no one knows where or when they can be resumed it will always be after mx and never before......what is the only truth you can take from the anoucement from feld....
making promises and statements that can not be proved is not plannig, its called other thing, and it is not only because of the stadiums being availeble, its next year in cause !!!!!!
and you saying that this period can be the off-season and the pros can race until winter and start a normal 2021 year is not telling the truth also.....i didnt expect that from a former pro !!!!!
i know that the money goes a long way and people have to do what they are paid for, but with this i lost a lot of respect that i had for the racer that you were, since i dont even know the person you are........
Wow. Just wow. Your response was completely out of line.

What "attitude" did JT$ project? He explained the mindset of Feld in at least planning for a return, while stating the facts and reality of the current business situation. There was no attitude whatsoever in JT$'s post. There were no judgements. You really need improve your reading comprehension. Also, I would suggest you get a dictionary and look up what attitude actually means.

What about the possibility of Orlando and Camping World Stadium? It’s basically empty aside from a few bowl games at the end of December and beginning of January.

To think that they are going to be able to get racers, infrastructure in place to have race's under the current climate in United States is complete bat shit. The country seems completely out of control and the health system is pretty much wasted right now.

Wouldn't want to be a racer and be injured at that time.

You do realize these races will be in nearly 6 months time? There's no way we'll be doing a 6+ month quarantine/isolation. That's not how the world works.

Why do people post the death rates. That has NEVER been the public health issue. People who harp on mortality rates are coming at it from a simplistic and self centered view with a complete disregard for systemic issues.

The issue has ALWAYS been the % of people infected who will require critical care. That is in the range of 5%, vs 0.4% for the normal flu, and 0.6% for H1N1 from a few years back. That combined with the much faster spread is why we have a public health disaster in the making.

i guess i can have my own opinion on this, and i dont have to just agree with what has been annouced, i even cared to explain where i was comming from.....my concern is to put racers and teams through 16 months of racing with only a 2 month break to set new bikes, negociate contracts and all that has to be done beside traveling around the country to race......i dont think this is any good for the sport itself......
my problem here is not reading or understanding even in a foreign language....it is the "do what you are told" and "agree with all the big boys say" spirit seen here....

So when teams don't get paid by sponsors and then can't pay staff, riders, rent and 18-wheel rig payment, then what?

Sponsors will not pay teams that didn't race or complete/attend the contracted number of events. Why would they?

Many of these sponsorships are mid-to-high six figures, for some it may be seven figures.

So to give you some idea of how this would work, let's use Geico Honda....they don't fulfill their sponsor contracts...NO ONE GETS PAID...Riders, no pay.....mechanics, no pay....support staff, no pay....truck get's repo'd because don't have to cash to pay the bill....truck driver is fired, no truck, no pay....

So you think everyone involved wants to get as many races in as possible or not?
