so coming from the moto side... trying to run the mideast series and all the semi local gncc races, how much softer do you normally set your suspension compared to moto? i made the mistake this past weekend laving my suspension untouched from my moto set up and took a beating!!!! i have ohlin rxt front forks and ride a 16 350xc-f... my forks are off my moto bike

i was thinking maybe 4 clicks softer on the compression and maybe 2 on rebound?? what about the shock? or what is a good starting point for the forks and shock? also seem to see alot more bikes with the forks slid up in the forks more also?

It's all rider preference. I run mine stiff enough to race moto. I'm on a 2018 CRF450RX....had to go with stiffer valving and heavier springs. Stock was way too soft.

If you are less than 6', lowering a bit is ok imo.
Soften it up a bit my opinion. Air pressure, run it a bit lower than usual. Gearing..find out what works best for your bike. Steele Creek, need some fuel handy in the pit/field or in the trees where you enter or exit.

Off road suspension needs to absorb roots and rocks without throwing you into a tree

I run the clickers about 4 clicks out from moto and also run lower fork oil level. Do not lower the bike. All the ruts will end up dug out to full bike depth. It’s extremely annoying to be a little lower than everyone else as you get hung up where they will all motor through. You should have your feet on the pegs anyway.
