Wife and I were just watching Foo Fighters on Austin City Limits. Grohl was wearing a Bud Ekins T under his outer shirt? Thought that was pretty hip.

A friend of mine was his girlfriend for a couple of years, she used to ride. I don't remember if it was the exact same time or not but not too far off I don't think so maybe.

I do know he's a HUGE Zeppelin buff and owns a 2003 BMW M5.

And, in any interviews he comes across as a fun, "regular" guy, not all

rock-star'ish.

And, I love his music.

some of you may remember from the old board i'm a big foo fighter's fan, that's where my screen name comes from.

i '99 or '00 the foo's were at some type of motocross related industry function, just dont remember which one, and racer x did a short interview with grohl.

their manager is from pensacola, so they come here on occasion and always make it a point to ride the jet skis.

on another note, i'm sorry i missed the austin city limits deal, got an email on it bout 3 months ago and my station didnt carry it, hopefully, i can catch it some time.

bingo. Dave Grohl is awesome. Wasn't it him who (I can't remember the exact circumstance) but for some reason, I don't know if the fan somehow helped him out, saved him somehow, or wrote a letter or won a contest or what, but I think he flew to Australia to meet some fan and had a couple beers with him. Anyway, pretty cool if he's a MX fan too.

In May 2006, Grohl sent a note of support to the two trapped miners in the Beaconsfield mine collapse in Tasmania, Australia. In the initial days following the collapse, one of the men requested an iPod with Foo Fighters album In Your Honor, to be sent down to them through a small hole. Grohl's note read, in part, "Though I'm halfway around the world right now, my heart is with you both, and I want you to know that when you come home, there's two tickets to any Foos show, anywhere, and two cold beers waiting for yous. Deal?"[13] In October 2006, one of the miners took up his offer, joining Grohl for a drink after the Foo Fighters acoustic concert at the Sydney Opera House.[14] Grohl wrote an instrumental piece for the meeting, which Grohl pledged he would include on the band's next album.[15] The song, titled "Ballad of the Beaconsfield Miners," appears on the Foo Fighters' latest release Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace, and features Kaki King.

I used to work in a multi-line dealership in Falls Church. One day I was off, but a friend of mine struck up a conversation with a sullen-looking long-hair kid sitting on a V-Max. Nobody was really talking to him.
He told my buddy that his band was doing pretty good.
It was Grohl- this was in the "Teen Spirit" days. He ended up paying cash for two V-Max's.

Did a little research and the Bud Ekins thing was apparently no accident.

A google turned this up:

Catalina Motors T-Shirt
5/22/2009 1:59pm
Fact 1:
Britney Spears wore a loretta lynns race shirt at a gig last year, buddy of mine runs security for her on the road. I had him ask what was up with it....she told him a fan gave it to her and she liked the name.

Fact 2:
I own a clothing boutique, we sold a shirt about 4 months ago that had 'fox hills motocross des nations 1998'

moral of the story, anyone can wear a shirt and have no clue what it means.

I remember reading in a Quad mag a few years back that Britney Spears is an ATV rider.

I really don't think you can just run out to the local mall and pick up a Bud Ekins T.
