The bearing on the chain side of my swingarm is not as tight as it should be. I replaced the bearings and put maybe 10 hours on them and the press fit was great. I just pressed them out because I am having it polished and reanodized and chain side came out way to easy. I took the bearing from the other side thinking it could be the bearing and was able to press it in by hand. It’s tight enough I can’t spin the race by hand but it’s definitely not as tight as it should be. Is there any permanent fix for this. I know I can use press fit repair but how long does that stuff work? I don’t want to spend time and money polishing and anodizing it if it only has a little life left. Also does anyone know what causes this? I don’t see any cracks and nothing looks bent. Like I said I replaced them about 10 hours ago greased them really good and used a press when I did it. Any help on a permanent repair would be helpful. I have no experience with the press fit repair stuff so if anyone has used it and got years of use with it please let me know. Thanks

new Swingarm would be best, wouldn’t hurt to try loctite 660. Machine shop could fix it but would cost as much as a new swingarm.

You think a Machine shop would charge 900 to repair it? I have a new one on back order for $911 from rmatvmc.

Whats the side to side play of the bearing in the bore?

It can come out fairly easy and not have any side to side play. The bearing is sandwiched in there so axial movement isnt really a concern.

You dont need go buy a $900 swingarm. Having that bore welded and remachined wont cost $900.

Simple fix. Get a small center punch and a hammer. Make little divots inside the swingarm where the bearing sits. Make sure you dont do this where the seal sits. The raised material from the divots will tighten it up. Add some Loctite bearing lock and you will be good to go. Fixed many of my YZ front hubs back in the day and those were so loose that gravity would make the bearing fall out.

Yea no side to side play. I have to use a lot of strength to get the bearing in or out but I have never had any bearing be able to go in by hand. It being extremely cold in my garage wouldn’t have anything to do with it would it? I know bearings shrink up but I’m assuming the swingarm would shrink up as well. Thanks for the help.

That wouldnt concern me if thats how it comes out. If you wanted to be extra safe you can peen the bearing in.
