For those of us that at one time or another, used the kitchen table to build a motor on, or the living room
as a garage.

Yes, there are still guys out there doing it.

I stained our brand new Meile dishwasher with CR125 parts. The powervalves where still attached and full of gum. Smelt 2 stroke after as well.
I burnt my pipe out on our gas stove; cranked the overhead exhaust fan on high, tapped the carbon out in our big sink.

I tell u guys, the time I did it, looking back on it, was one of the best years of my life. 6 months out of high school my friend from school lasted 2 months before he went back home.
His room became ground zero for the quest to make it as a pro.
The looks the girls would give when they walked in at some of the parties were priceless. They would sometimes whisper to each other, “He’s got a motorcycle in the back bedroom!”. Most would roll their eyes and their dates would smile ear to ear.
The bitches, the girlfriends, they came and went.
I answered only to my job and motocross.
When I finally got kicked out, when a party got out of hand and the cops came, I moved in with a total fox.
Said the bike was okay as long as I worked on it in the basement.
Should have known, that compromise was kinda the beginning of the end as a single man.
A totally independent, self sufficient man.
Ya, I kept chasing the dream for a year or 2, but really, that 1st year, that was living the dream.
