Can someone explain me what's the use for that catch tank because when te coolant escapes the radiator it has to overcome the spring pressure from the radiator cap ...that's a one way valve ..no way back , i dont get it .

The same way the one on your car does. The cap seals pressure not vacuum.

i mean , the mecanic was talking about the coolant returning to the radiator when the temperature drops to normal values ..how's that possible with a one way valve ?

Due to this vacuum, a vacuum valve in the radiator cap opens allowing the coolant which was flown into the radiator coolant overflow tank back into the radiator.

Since they have gone to metal starting grates on the line, they don't want to take the chance of a hot running bike spitting coolant on the metal grates potentially reducing traction.

Heat causes expansion and therefore pressure builds. Cooling causes contraction and therefore creates a lower pressure then whats in the bottle.

Same! I guess I never really realized there was a second valve (vacuum) in the cap. D'oh!
