He should be consistently placing at least 3rd-5th
You would expect that from a 30 year old man that races kids 5 to 10 years younger. Not sure why teams keep putting time and money in him. He is probably a nice guy, but he isn't a future champ neither a past champ. Then gambling on a younger kids like Sanayei, Hsu, Jace Owen,... Would make more sense to me.

All I know is twice this season I’ve seen a white ktm fall in a corner and then be unable to finish the race because of broken parts lol

I agree, for a privateer, it's a terrible choice!

The answer, no. He has never been a regular top 5 finisher in his decade-long SX career. In fact, he is finishing consistently better than ever right now.

Here is his average finish position in SX over his career:

JGR SUZ RMZ250: 7
Troy Lee KTM 250SXF: 12.4
Star YAM YZ250F: 12.6
Rock River YAM YZ250F: 8.9
Eleven-ten HON CRF250: 12.4
Privateer HON CRF250: 15.2
This . So much. Why do people think he should be winning or something. He does what ye does in SX . He ll be soild , get the odd podium. Good few top 5 s , and be around 4 in the championship in the end . Theres nothing wrong with that !! . But all i know if he was riding for Mich last night and gave up the 3rd . He would have had been screamed at by Mich . There was no way he should of lost 3rd last night imo . His line choices in SX are sooooo strange sometimes. Which has nothing to do with the bike

Last season he finished once on the podium. On the KTM and Yamaha he was indeed, but the age isn't doing him any favors.

I don't see any of Sanayei, Owen, Hsu on the podium even once in his situation.

JGR/AMart were tasked with developing an all-new bike with minimal factory support, and even the previous model had scarcely seen pro action for years. I don't see how less experience is advantageous there. AMart raced well enough to land on the box once. That's a near perfect fit for a team like that, and I hope we see even more from him outdoors this year.

Indoors, he has never blown the doors off the competition, but has finished 4,5,4 in the last few weeks. I see him riding as well as ever there, and the only issue would be if somebody expected him to compete for a championship (I did not).

Indeed, but people should remind how well Sanayei did, and he's still only 23 years old.
