Live racing has coverage and announcing mistakes. Like racing where you have different levels of talent, there are good production teams and great production teams. Supercross just isn't at the level where we can afford "great production teams".
Because this forum is filled with announcing and production experts that can do nothing but complain (instead of enjoy the gift of racing) here are your choices.

Don't settle, keep pushing forward.
In a constructive way, what could be done in your opinion to make the commentary better? (Keep in mind we had Leigh Diffey in the booth and people complained about him.)
I would argue this is more a short coming of the production staff then the guys in front of the cameras.
Also...keep in mind I'm not suggesting the broadcasts are perfect. I'm suggesting that people seem to have an unhealthy obsession with the announcers and need to let it go. haha.
The production...yeah...I can see where people might get upset. I have the Gold app as well and I even found myself a little put off when the broadcast focused on replays instead of the the first few laps of the 450 main. That being said, the racing was awesome and I got over pretty quick.

Listen to any other sport. ANY. I dare you to find something worse. They talk to us like we are idiots.
As far as the camera coverage, MXGP is HORRIBLE they miss action all the time. I can also point out examples when they spend too much time in the wrong spot, shakey cameras, pathetic slow-mo, or have a camera shot on Cairoli's wife. Without Malin, MXGP looks like a live feed from a regional race compared to MotoGP and F1. haha
It does prove the point the announcer helps make the production. So does the production team. I think we all agree that Ralph isn't ideal but it's better than having no live racing.
I get everyone's point and I'm not the president of the Ralph Sheheen fan club. Keep in mind that most of what you're hearing is directed from the production crew, not Ralph. They're telling him to inject the stupid info he gets from track walk. Daniel used to be awesome, now he's doing what he's told and he's lost a little energy. As far as RDL - yeah, that's like a high school production. I suffer thru MXGP coverage, missing the action, shitty leaderboard crawl, and yet I'm still stoked because at least I get to watch it. (Don't get me started on how unprofessional the track branding looks compared to other sports.)
Do we deserve better coverage? No...we don't but it would be nice. We're complaining about some serious first world problem shit here. We're not spoiled children. You want them to get rid of Ralph. Stop watching the program. When they see the rating go down, then you'll see some big changes. Problem is, I'm not gonna stop watching because I want to watch the races.
I'm just trying to get people to enjoy what they have and stop complaining about the shit they don't like. Stop mining for things to be upset about and just enjoy the racing. Last night was awesome. I think everyone should focus on that.
This network puts motocross at the bottom of the list, they showed some nonsense college basketball game over the racing, that shows you where their priorities are. I'm no production expert, but all I have seen in the coverage of this sport has been regression and greed, when technology should be making things cheaper and easier than ever. It's going backwards is the problem.
