Star made it official (finally): Justin Cooper and Dylan Ferrandis are their West riders. Shane McElrath and Colt Nichols for East.

Yes, Ferrandis and Forkner are the favorites, but there are others that are going to be competitive. And this first 450 main is going to be unreal with all the variety that A1 always brings.

Agreed, someone must be recovering from an injury and needs the extra time. Cooper is good enough to win the East, especially without Forkner.

I'd take McElrath's chances over Cooper's and probably Colt as well if he can stay healthy. East coast was not that strong last year. AC and Dylan were a step above.

Nichols is recovering from an injury, but as far as I'm aware McElrath is healthy and could have raced today.

Nichols is nursing an injury so he's east no matter what.
Some might think McElrath is a title contender on the Star Yamaha, me included. I'd rate McElrath over Cooper indoors.

I think McElrath will be a contender on the East with the Star Yamaha bike. So why not split your odds and have a contender on each coast.

Not sure Cooper can get it done this year.
