Going up for auction this coming January here in WV.

Yes, that's an 850 Norton. And a few 2 and 3 cylinder Triumphs. A BSA Gold Star. Most seem to be survivors with OEM paint.
Was told more is to come before they all go.

If interested pm me.

Those look great. I have just bought a Norton commando 750. In parts. 2 motors but one gearbox and 3 petrol tanks. A Triumph 500 whole but not running. And a Triumph 350 hardtail in boxes. Loads of boxes.

I paid 500 and think I am way out of my depth.

Congrats Crake.
And ya, you have your work cut out for you.
Imo it's always harder building a basket case vs redoing a whole survivor.

Here's a shot of inspiration for u.

Guy told me it took a few years to get that Commando together.

Only Norton out of about 50 bikes there for that ride.

Very nice! We have a couple Triumphs and Nortons. Our garage us a total mess right now otherwise I would post some pics but we have a '70 T120 Bonneville, a 79' T140 Bonneville, an 850 Commando just like the one pictured in OP, and several other vintage Euro bikes including a Ducati 250 single Desmo-drive from the early 60s, a BSA we're restoring and others.

We have long and shitty winters up here so we always have a project bike or two. We like to fully restore these things back to showroom floor condition, although we have a couple race bikes too that we race AHRMA with

Some beautiful bikes. Now if there was a 52 Vincent there, I'd be all over it!

We store the race bikes down in the Lower 48 so I'll have to dig up some older photos on the desktop

True dat jafo.

When u think about it, there is a lot of American folklore that involves the Triumph/BSAs.
James Dean was on one when he waited/watched his gf get married to another guy.
Marlon Brando rode a Triumph in The Wild One.
Evel started on one and from what I understand preferred Triumphs over Harley's.
Not to mention Steve McQueen rode them at the ISDE.

Myself, I'm into the 79 to 83 Honda CB 750s. Have an SS and a K model.

But, I'm gonna be at that auction.
And if one of those Tripples goes low, heck, I'm in.

I mean, how many times have you pulled up to a gas pump to see a 3 cylinder Triumph Trident or BSA gettin fuel?

Ya, you should.
End of July, mckeesskyranch.com.
Take a day for yourself, it's usually on a Thursday,
The Road Ride, would be cool if you showed up.

I realize its my own experience of the area I was in, but growing up in the 60s/70s I never saw Harleys anywhere, all the older guys I saw were on Triumphs and Nortons. Then going into the mid 70s some I noticed Yamaha RD350s, Honda CBs showing up and also Kawi KZ750s and such, but dont recall any Harleys. My dad had a Triumph 250 Trailblazer I rode on occasion. (Triumphs version of a dual sport) dang thing was heavy AF and miserable offroad but fun on the street.

Here’s a pic of a ‘68 Bonneville I resurrected about 10 years ago. I put a Boyer ignition in it and Mikuni carbs for reliability and performance. The purists don’t seem to like the Mikuni’s but they certainly worked well on that bike. That’s original paint on the tank.

My '69 Triumph 500 was still the prettiest bike I ever owned.
