(07 CR125) Fork options? Also, anyone seen this happen to forks?

Edited Date/Time 12/10/2019 8:33am
I picked up a 2007 CR125 a while back. I actually had my father go and pick it up as I was living a couple thousand km's away. I said to him "so long as it starts i want you to buy it", as no matter what I'd always wanted this last model 2 stroke by Honda. I've finally got around to getting it in my garage to restore it and check out these forks! What the hell did this guy before me do to them?! Clearly they're beyond repair, so I was thinking I'd try to find a set of forks from a wrecking bike somewhere. Can I get some recommendations on what other bikes share the same fork tube diameters and would swap over nicely to this bike?

Are you only after different forks? I have a very clean and lightly used 2007 CR125 Forks. Revalved from Pro Circuit with 18hrs on it (20hrs total since new!).

However, I am in California and not sure how much shipping is and if that would make sense for you, budget wise..

Also, easiest swap (in my opinion) would be the CR250 models. Just need the forks and triple clamps, everything else will bolt right up. The CR125 clamps wont fit the 1mm larger CR250 forks on top.

I would legitimately be interested in your forks if it were possible to ship them over to Australia at a reasonable price, I would have to enquire. If you wanted to let me know how much you were chasing for them, as well as some weights and dimensions of the forks packaged up, I could make some enquiries and see if it is worthwhile.

I would want $400 for the forks, plus whatever the shipping costs are. These are fully revalved for 150-160lbs MX Novice level.

These are as new as you're going to find. No knicks, dings or any damage to the lugs, absolute mint condition.

I'll see if I can get them weighed..

That is corrosion on your fork tubes. I used to live on a tropical island with lots of rust and this was fairly common. The fork tubes get small nicks from roost. This gives the salt air a place to enter and once it gets in there it spreads under the anodizing and it just falls off in large flakes.

I think you could be spot on with that assumption. The whole bike is pretty neglected, every bolt head is corroded as well as engine cases. But the cases should scrub up nicely and I have ordered a factory CR bolt kit to sort that out.

Those are actually some of best kyb open bath cartridge forks ever done. I'd replace them with same, and tune them. The pc forks earlier looked good for right price.
