All I learned from this thread is the easiest way to get 2 stroke guys to turn on each other is to ask what the best oil and ratio is.

Armatuzio is 99% false. Also has no idea what oil migration times are. Also Yamaha doesn't and never has sold outboards requiring 100:1 except tiny trolling engines.
Only Mercury/evinrude sold race outboard only for sale to racers. AV Gas Minimum and premix at 32:1 Stock at 9500 RPM

Even their top consumer outboards only turned 6-7200 depending on size and performance and were oil injected.
ie Promax models etc.

I know because I have 52 grand worth of Merc hanging on my transom.

And a quick call determined snowmobiles average 45:1 at 8,000

Would you trust this at 100:1 for say a 5 mile stretch?

I guess if a 40hp outboard is a trolling motor, you’re right. All larger motors are oil injected, not premix, or didn’t I make that clear enough? Sorry you guys are struggling with this... kind like changing your oil every 3000 miles, or conventional oil is the way to go. Old myths die hard

Which sled, which call? Most are full shift at 7800 rpm, but that’s irrelevant because it’s throttle position that determines output, not RPM, so whoever said that really has no idea... injector oil is also a different animal, diluted with solvent for cold weather And pump-ability opposed to 100:1 formulation. 32:1 it is for you.. you should probably go 16:1 though, why stop there?

It's really easy to determine your average ratio used with OI.
You're outclassed here.
When you said you can't oil foul a plug at 16:1, well, you lost the entire forum.

How exactly does oil foul a plug? We ran a test motor at 5:1 forever. You want to see what clean looks like? What’s the science behind fouling a plug, do you know? A plug can foul at 200:1. Oil has to get extremely hot to coke.. FYI fouled plugs generally happen at cold startup under extreme lean conditions. Sorry I lost the forum, glad I’m outclassed... so far I’ve seen about 4 posts that make any sense. I will gracefully bow out. Ta taa
