If they people that ran GH weren’t crazier than my ex girlfriend, maybe Mx Sports would be willing to work something out.

I wish glen helen would do a warm up race the weekend before the nationals start like they used to back in the mid/late 2000’s.

There should be more California rounds. LOL.

I liked the racing action from Pala this year, and I have liked the racing action at Glen Helen in the past. Glen Helen is more recognizable on TV, but that doesnt give anyone an excuse to be a primadonna.
Pala kickass. Great place to watch a race too.

Speaking as someone who has recently attended Hangtown, GH/Pala, and 3-4 SX/year for the past few years, here's my take:

The steep hills at GH are iconic, and part of MX history. It's too bad GH mgmt can't play nice with MX Sports because one of the most iconic tracks in the sport should be on the schedule.

That said, the spectator experience at Pala wasn't nearly as bad as I expected it to be. What WAS bad about Pala was the TRAFFIC jams getting in and out. I was still stuck in a standstill on that 2-lane road coming in, and missed the first moto. And after the races, I sat in the upper parking lot for nearly 2 hrs waiting for my chance to escape.

I've had arguments about the traffic at Pala– others say it wasn't bad at all. But all those people were industry/media folks who got to park in the lower lots and go in/out of the lower entrance. Us regular fans who got herded to the upper lot got stuck in a clusterfuck

If I go back to Pala this year, I'll leave 2 hrs earlier, and bring a novel to read while waiting to get out

Playing nice goes both ways its called a compromise. Look its business. Get over it. If it comes back great. That means both side agree to do what's best for the sport and not about money. Will it happen I can't say, Could it happen I think both side would make adequate revenue by working together but its not my business or my money. I think the power of someone higher up could help that has no card in the game.
Is Glen Helen hurt by not having it. I can't say because I don't know the cost or the end revenue but I know we have almost more races there than weekends to have them. Other tracks are not that lucky and need this. Its not Glen Helen or MX Sports alone because it takes 2 to make a successful event. Keep your fingers crossed and maybe in 5 years it might happen and if it does enjoy it because at that point I am retired and gone.

Guy B shitcanned the Glen Helen thread earlier this year and then shitcanned me for three months or more for asking what happened to the thread. Glen Helen not being on the National schedule is a joke and a few people need to set their egos aside and make it happen. Pala, Lake Elsinore, Miller Motorsports Park.... damn those were some horrible events. Rather spend my money going to the RBSR, and I did. Spoke with my wallet. This “industry” is its own worst enemy sometimes.

This is no shit.

Nothing like watching the pros swapping and roosting and each other WFO up those hills. Great track.

Let this end with this post. I think both sides can reach and agreement for another 5 years if they sat down and talked. Maybe bring in a 3rd party that has no interest in the finical part but the racing part.
Sometimes the search for something more is lost in the fact that it has already been found but ignored. Again its not my money or my businesses but put that aside and think about the spectators and maybe even some of the riders. Without them there would be no races to watch. This is my opinion only.
