I had a '93 RM125 that had that set up. The bigger one doesn't move, it's more like a guide. There is a left and a right.
Hope this helps.

Yep - the 93-95' models had this setup.

Marty, are you sure your bike is a year 2000? Do you have a VIN# from the frame and motor?
A pic of the bike and engine would help too.

No vins as I’m not home at the moment.

Yeah, that looks like a year 2000. The previous owner may have put a 93'-95' cylinder on it, or the whole engine.
I believe the cylinders are interchangeable between those years.

They did have two different Power valves in 2000

no, they didn't. The 2000 was a new design. Those letters are model year designations, and they have one parts diagram for several year models. Here are the model designations:

96=T

97=V

98=W

99=X

00=Y

Then why does the part diagram show both power valves I ran into this problem with a Suzuki with the rear suspension turn out there was multiple linkages for the same year bike

Suzuki hasn't done a mid-year change on a bike in a long, long time. What year linkages are you referring too?

I think it was a 2003 250 I was working on the bike and the guy didn't want to buy a new linkage so he bought one off of eBay for a 2003.it looked nothing like the linkage that was on the bike. I went online looked it up and they showed multiple linkages for the bike including the one he bought. we just ordered a new one that matched what was on the bike.

Suzuki microfiche diagrams are the most confusing I’ve ever used.

Occam's razor would seem to suggest mxrose3 is correct. Hard to believe Mxa and everybody else would have missed Suzuki having multiple design specs in the same year 20 or so years ago.

So explain to me why the Microfiche shows multiple designs for certain parts , Honda is the same way when looking up their parts you not only need the model year you need the VIN off the bike.

Honestly don't know always minor changes to support recall / design flaw issues but I would consider a completely new power valve or linkage system to be a major change. Also have never heard of parts for the same year not being interchangeable but I've been wrong many times before.

Marty, I can't remember the exact year but my brother had a valve break pretty much the same as yours. My dad had to back order the part but been desperate to get my brother's bike up and running a local engineering shop was able to repair it. Not sure whether it was silver soldered or what but It worked as good as new. I asked my dad about it and the only thing he can recall was that he never bothered to switch it out with the new part (when it arrived)

I'm not going to argue on the internet over this. Sorry.

Not arguing about it I seriously would like to know why show multiple parts for the same yr. bikes. Always found it confusing when trying to order OEM parts for Japanese bikes.

mxrose3 explained it pretty well.

Like models are put into groups....

'89-92
'93-95
'96-00
'01-06

Each year group is broken down into model years designated by a letter

89=k
90=l
91=m
92=n
93=p
94=r
95=s
96=t
97=v
98=w
99=x
00=y

or 2001 and later

01=k1
02=k2
03=k3
04=k4
05=k5
06=k6

try looking parts up online and it's pretty straight forward once you understand the model year designations

Just seems like a stupid way to list Parts none of the other companies do that with the exception of Honda with their VIN number thing. If I look up OEM parts for a KTM, Kawasaki or Yamaha and I'm looking at a 2000 they're just going to show me parts for a 2000 not the other years because they're similar. No Wonder people hate Suzuki so much on vital LOL.
