You guys have any experience with these? I have a fairly new bike, 4.8 hours on her. I read the magnetic gytr drain bolts snap real easily.. now I don’t know if these guys are just idiots, or if the bolt is just shit. Any input is appreciated.

I looked at other brands, but the magnet on the end is a little sketchy? I have a 2016 yami. Maybe I should buy one for a newer model?

I dont see any reason to worry about them. Also dont know how you snap drain bolts. Theress not that much torque on them

I run an aftermarket magnetic drain plug because they always seem to collect metal no matter how often I change my oil and filter. I've never had one snap/strip, like kb228 said there is not much torque on them at all. I will say the two I've bought feel really light/weak, like hollow aluminum.

never heard of any sort of drain plug bolt snapping. There only suppose to be snug. I use a 5 inch long wrench and just give it a little extra oomph after its tight by hand.

Thanks guys, appreciate yalls input. Yeah me either.. it was just the product reviews that I had read. Its just like 7 pounds of torque, I don’t use a torque wrench on mine, but just an idea of what it calls for. Honestly I do snug then a quarter turn about, not sure what that equates to haha should be alright I hope 😬

People often over tighten the drain bolt because it is a large size bolt. But its large because the oil has to drain out not because it is necessary to be torqued a lot. Remember its being threaded into aluminum.

A buddy of mine snapped a chunk of his cases off by overtightening the drain bolt. I'd rather snap the bolt, for sure!
Just give it a snug with the wrench, maybe just a hair more.
