Just curious what your thoughts are on it. It seems like you can either make a lot of money, or not. I know of one that seems pretty cool and I guess if you want to use the product it is worth it.

Honestly, don't do it.

Only the top makes any real money.
You'll invest time and money and the only one's who will profit will be those above you.
Now they sell you on this idea that all you have to do is get more people under you and then you can be the top, problem is how many people can you really hook into it, honestly?
You need hundreds under you to make anything.

You will go months and months before you actually make a dime, can you afford that?
Friends and family will avoid you for fear of you trying to recruit them...that's truth

and lastly, IMO, if any product is so great, why is it only available through MLM? Why can't I buy it at a regular store? Why doesn't a regular store carry it? If I hate it, I can return it to the store, and you'll say I can return it to you, but I don't want to hurt your feelings, so I'm stuck with it.

I'd rather take it back to the store when I discover it sucks, because if it didn't suck, it'd be sold widely in stores nationwide

Sorry, but that's my opinion on MLM.
I say they're scams

Oh, and BTW, over your lifetime, how many of these things have we all later found out was a scam?

To make a lot of money requires a lot of work. It also helps if you are the first one in your town and your town is big. It requires constant work to keep your downline going and growing. And if you don't keep it growing you don't make money. The majority of the money comes from signing new people up.

Are you thinking of doing the Video Phone thing that is the lastest rage because it was on Trump Apprentice show. Had not heard of it until today, when someone I know handed me a card. I told him I use a free video conference thing already... called Windows Live Messenger and a web camera!!

Didnt mean to say that you could make money at any MLM. I had a friend who sold NuSkin (we called it foreskin when we were in his company) and his wife sold GetALife and they actually did pretty well. Like Dave said above... I hated going to his house because I knew I was going to get hit up for some product that I didnt need.

Hell, lots of people out there have made a descent living in MLM's. Just not the norm. Just like Vegas... there are winners... but Vegas wasnt built on winners!!

I had a coworker who I was good buds with that got heavy into it. He tried to get me into it and I finally had to tell him to leave me alone. It was sad seeing it consume him. He moved to Boston and I haven't heard from him since. Not sure if he made it big or if he flopped.

I love sitting next to the independent business owners at Wendy's while they slang their garbage to some poor fella.. Pure lunchtime comedy.

So I guess that would be my one piece of advice. If you do get into this stuff make sure you leave your friends and family out of it, unless you want to lose them. Seriously.

Well I've had a night to think about it, and I am definitely not doing it. I was more or less just wanting it so I could get the cheap vacations. This particular MLM set you up as an independent travel agent with your own website like Travelocity or expedia. ANd of course you made commissions off of the other peoples accounts that you set up.

AMWAY!
That group is like a cult man. Tried when I was 21. People at the top were banking some serious money and they had a bad wrap. Meetings and the way there set up brainwashes the shit out of you. However, they have an assload of products. I never made any money off it. I pretty much shy away from anything MLM.

You have to pester the shit out of your family and friends and neighbors. After a short time everybody will want to run the other way when you come walking around.
The facts are 99.9% of the people who enter MLM don't make money. Some do, and those are the stories you hear about to get you fired up and want to join.

Those ACN kooks tried recruiting me 3 years ago and alot about a year ago. I went to a few meetings.

500 bucks to join, and you have to change 3 of your services like Cell, TV service etc to ACN. Same services, you just pay ACN for it

None of the plans were better than what I had(so what you get a deal on a phone, the cell co's already do this)

AND before you could actually become in a spot to make money, you needed to recruit 3 kooks of your own.

As far as video phones, Dude, less than 50% have a phone in their home, and while it uses VOIP, who cares?

A webcam on Yahoo messenger is free. and on other IM services.

We do meetings with Live messenger services over the internet on a widescreen TV, for free and we can do it world wide.

Oh, and I loved the same plants that were at each meeting bragging all the money they make and the homes they own.

Well, none owned homes and if driving a beat ass Hyundai elantra is making bank, well, That was all I needed

Yep, we use that in the conference room with a giant flatscreen, worldwide.

That videophone just seems to me like a POS with a screen.

A decent laptop with webcam and Yahoo messenger is better.

When I joined Amway it was always meetings and somebody trying to pump you up and tell you how much money there making and you I read so many damn self help books it was ridiculous. I tried to get my Dad involved and he was so pissed. Shit, that was 15 years ago. You have to go out and bug the shit out of people. Real uncomfortable.
