Gear grades. Why don't companies have it?

Also something to keep in mind when buying gear is that some brands actually innovate, some brands copy, some brands do neither. All brands sell multiple price points. Not all are equal for the dollar spent.

This is a great point and important to remember. This is also the reason not to buy random "motocross gear" on Amazon. I've seen people on here say "a jersey is a jersey, am I right?" This must be spoken by someone that hasn't worn properly fitting, venting, and flexible gear.

Look, I don't think anyone is saying you have to buy the most expensive gear. Buy what you want. I literally just bought a $30 Body Glove wet suit on sale to try snorkeling here in SoCal where the water is cold. Did I buy the best out there? Not a chance, because who knows if I'll ever do it again. Same with a Kayak... $300 Costco buy (actually a present from the wife).

I don't mind getting budget items to test them out. But if your main thing is riding a dirt bike and that's what you look forward to every week, getting some legit gear is worth it.

Speaking of, I've had gear reviews here on Vital do very poorly (low views) so is this something you guys really care about? I've worn almost every brand and most lines from each brand. I can do a video review of each, but if no one watches them, they aren't worth doing.

Putting a catalog page on a dartboard would have saved you even more time.

I was looking the other day at a pair of 2019 pair of pants that was selling for 69.99 I never buy would never buy the 69.99 pants if they was 2020 models cause that is the bottom line for most companies. but because they was 2018 or 19's they was 50% off. So if I was just going by price I would have thought they was the same as the cheap junk.

Not the higher quality pants that they was selling.

Likewise.
I usually buy my pants/jersey/gloves based on what closeout has the highest percentage of discount. That means I'm buying top tier three year old pant designs that originally retailed for $179.99 for $24.99 instead of the lowest tier current designs for $59.99.
Boots and helmets I'm way more picky about as they actually protect me, unlike a thin piece of polyester / nylon blend.

I don't believe that at all. I did some closeout searching and what the list had in it is pretty close to what I was looking for.

Just was looking for a simple way to choose what is cheapest without being junk.

The price tag tells you the grade
