CRF 250 filter screen

Do you run the screen in your air filter? If not what do you have in there?

Bend the tabs and remove it. Takes about 2 minutes, or less.

MUCH cheaper than buying a $25 twin air, and does the same thing.

When I removed my screen in my KLX450 it reminded me of removing a vulcanized hand grip. And a Twin Air flow kit is over 1C note. Yes much cheaper.

I run the twin air flow kit. Have on my last 3-4 bikes.

Bending the tabs and removing it works fine but I'm not a fan of the flimsy cage left afterward.

This past weekend a friend had his backfire screen removed on his KXF. His airbox, seat, # plates are now in the trash. It could have been worse if not for a spectator throwing his and other bystanders beer all over bike. On a Yamaha F you can use the 2stroke filter cage and a Boyesen/TwinAir flame retardent filter.

The cage is way stiffer than needed on the Honda. Can't speak for the other brands....

If it was too flimsy, there would be a bunch of two strokes running around with a subpar cage.....

Dr Mark is the "fire threat" a real issue on the Honda? And if so what do you do to prevent it?

I removed mine and never had a problem. It felt like it had more power, but hey, that could all be in my head.

I've been running stock filters with the screen removed in my CRF450. So far, so good.

twin air makes a filter with a built in backfire screen ( layer of foam) i removed the screen on my crf250 and am running that filter, no issues, definateley increases airflow. cost me 30 bucks for the filter i think
