I got arrested for fleeing and eluding back in the day too ( like 12 years ago). Got away obviously, then they came to my job 4 days later to get me. I was stupid, and when asked if I knew why they were there I admitted it (lawyer said he would of got it dropped real easy had I denied it). I thought it would be a misdemeanor, turned out it was a felony. Got a lawyer, the deal they worked out at court was going to be a felony conviction and probation. I was in the Army reserves at the time, so my lawyer told the state attorney or district attorney or what ever that person is called that id be kicked out of the army if I got a felony conviction. So just like that, they made a deal for a misdemeanor and court cost. Worked out for me that time.

Started with small rides, couldn't do back to back days for 2 to 3 months because of soreness. Within 6 months I had pretty good strength, not much lateral stability. I worked and worked and worked the PT. At 1 year i jumped back on a dirt bike, rode 4 or 5 small moto's. I was not ready yet. I waited another year and rode again, better but not great. 6 more months, rode again and I was happy with how I felt.
I bought a new 450 and even raced again. My riding now has me sticking around 85%, knowing i need to stay off the ground.
I limped for a year. The soft tissue damage in the joint was absolutely the most difficult part! That's where the pain was coming from, but it eventually healed up pretty good. I'd say i'm 95% recovered. I'll take it!

Opioids don't help with the nerve pain. If it gets past the point of reasonable, talk to your medical group about this.

Might give you some relief if needed. It's s short term bridge for the issues with nerve damage.

I got arrest at 17 bonded out got an lawyer 8 years later I finally plead out to judge I had to do a year an a day. First charge ever and last charge ever

Colt Nichols had a very similar injury when he was I believe 17 (the main reason why he's a 24-year-old 250 rider). I know he was off the bike for a long long time, close to a year.

Obviously, it didn't affect his abilities all that much. Listen to your Doctor and don't rush the process and take it step by step. Good luck with it though. I can't imagine how much pain you went through!

Dayum man. From the looks of that tree it's a wonder you're still here.

It's understood, been there, not a lot of things get the blood pumping like it does when the man is chasing you.

A bit of advice. Don't let anyone or anything own you. It ain't working out, it's hurting you in a bad way, no matter how much u want it, get rid of it.

As for fleeing, the saying goes............
don't fall, don't stall.

Drink a lot of milk, do the PT like these guys are saying, and good luck getting healthy.

First of all, bummer deal and best of luck with the rehab bro. That's brutal. I've not been that busted up, but I've got both wrists at the same time, shoulder, collarbone, ribs, etc. Always got back on. In my mid 40's and still going. My best advice is to just take it easy and heal up. They'll be making dirt bikes for the rest of your life. As time goes on, maybe you reevaluate your intensity. Maybe you get to a point you don't even care to ride anymore. I never did, but plenty of dudes do...

Make better choices, not the least of which should be staying clear of pine trees until you can improve your skill level and ride in a safer manner.
