Because it is truth. I always find truth interesting. So do many others. Rebuttles like yours are usually from a closed minded fan boy that cannot accept facts.

I thought that piece was well done and gave our sport some great mainstream exposure. Props to James and whoever had a hand in getting that done.

I don't think that James was faster outdoors but RC was never as close indoors as many people remember.

I haven't seen the interview yet. But if RC said it.....then he must be speaking about the indoor stuff. It was a rare day indeed when james could run with RC outside. It usually ended up with James being 15-30 seconds ahead of 3rd , while R.C. was about 15-30 seconds ahead of Stewart. INDOORS though....yeah , i think James is the fastest thing to ever sit on a bike , and that includes RC. Chad is right up there as well , as being just about immortal. I think with all of us being able to see RC , JS and CR all ride in this era....we are all pretty lucky.....no matter who wins.

i hope nobody minds if i quote rc .... "scoreboard".

no matter what fast guy came along, rc would be able to score. its almost like golf, you got guys who can drive 300 yards everytime but they just cant move around the greens and score.

dont get me wrong, i like james a lot, he is good to his fans, he is as fast as they come, but rc sure could score

I remember what RC said on the TGO from the '05 season - he was talking about that crazy deal where Stewart jumped on his back at Unadilla, and he said, "...but he'll have his day. Believe me, he'll have it." I always thought that said a lot about Carmichael and Stewart both. Stewart almost crippled or killed Carmichael, and RC couldn't help just acknowledging how unbelievably fast Stewart was, even though that was a really dumb move. I still don't think Stewart was quite as fast as RC outdoors, but in SX, I don't think there's ever been a better rider except MC (who was the best ever and always will be, IMO).

Peds - the perfect slander. It can't be disproven and it makes people feel a little better about losing.

I remember that interview and kinda thinking the same thing......I got the sense that RC knew that JS shared that "go for it no matter what" attitude that separates guys like them from the other really talented guys.

RC may have said he was the "fastest", but he didn't say he was the "best".

RC is a very gracious goat theese days (not that he hasn't been for a long time.) I don't reacall many races were James was any faster outdoors. The biggest being at Budds when he did have the fastest lap on a 125 over RC on the big 450.
