Are you guys having issues with putting the bike in first gear, where it seems like the clutch is slipping? It looks like my bike wants to go, but during the riding, there is not a single issue...

it's actually a really easy one to miss if I handed you the plates loose it would be hard to see but obviously you with them on the pins it sticks out. one of the other things I was thinking with your situation is sometimes when you put used parts into a new engine although they may not show excessive wear the extra power of fresh motor does them in. as far as the comments above that wear like this can't happen in such a short time, I've personally seen clutch basket wear out like this in under 15 hours, most pro riders could do that in one Moto.
I came THIS CLOSE to missing those pins......

Auto? The torq drive plates don't look like that from what I remember. Pretty sure the new autos are torq drive plates too.

Yes that's an auto clutch it's the older mode.l it's actually two different clutches, the ones is a core exp and the other ones just an exp. Just like the Op they originally worked fine, I order new plates for them seem like after that they were breaking every 10 hours.

Gotcha I could see the auto having problems since it slips by itself and uses centrifugal force to engage.

I do have one of their manual clutches never broke any plates in that but could never get to work right. I think the washer that goes between the baskets was the wrong size ,the the inner basket and outer basket kept sticking together when the clutch got hot. I sold the bike it was in so I never did get it straightened out, I pulled it out and put the Oem stuff back in. Think I paid $600 for that just sitting on a Shelf. Anybody wants it I'll give you a good deal on it. It fits the older KTM 2 stroke 08 or 09.

Maybe it's got something to do with this "high end swedish oil" that is eating the rubber dampers out of the clutch.

What kinda oil is it?

I’ve got probably 200 hours on three different rekluse clutches in three different bikes (first two were the Core EXP 2.0’s.-crf250r and a yz450..current clutch is the Core EXP 3.0 in a kx450) never had one issue with any of them.

I love them...they are almost like cheating. And in terms of going faster (cutting times) they are probably the single biggest bang for your buck-riding schools and suspension are right there with them-you can buy.

I have used Rekluse clutches with zero problems. Have you checked the free play at the lever (already know it is not an auto clutch)? Not sure how much the Honda manual calls for, should be a couple mm. Maybe you have so little slack that the clutch is a bit disengaged at all times, causing it to burn.

Dear fellow riders,

The 2019 Honda 450 R clutch is different than the 2018. The 2018 has a bearing in the pressure plate and the 2019 has the bearing on the throw out. If you put the 2018 pressure plate with bearing on the 2019 throw out with the bearing, there by having 2 bearings, the pressure plate will be too high and the clutch will burn up.

The part number for Core Manual TorqDirve for 2018 is RMS-7109
The part number for Core Manual TorqDrive for a 2019 is RMS-7101002

Go buy a hike off craigslist from a teenager . Garuenteed to be worse then this ... but I will admit matience is definatly lacking in this .. I got a kx 125 off of craigslist last year and the basket had about 1/4 notches in it . That was the worst I've ever seen ....
