The snakes in that guys head!

Just like mine, I see me in his intense ramblings,

The tale of hitting then paralyzed may be the common, the whole rolled down the jump with my arms a flopping hatched a bunch of snakes in my head when I did mine.
Yeh it was intense. I actually switched it off a few times not because it was bad. Just fiull on... He is next level but it’s cool to have different personalities in life makes it interesting.. I can’t believe all his injuries it’s incredible really.

Yes!...Well, either that or he thinks up theories or says things that are so confusing, that less intelligent people think he's super knowledgeable. Don't get me wrong...I'm a fan of his, I'm sure his sups are good...and I wish the Troy or Mid-Ohio, or whichever round that was, wasn't cancelled. I was rootin for him over GL.
I, for one, don't find anything he says confusing. So are you saying that makes me unintelligent?
That is indeed one possibility so I can't say you are wrong with your post. Buuuttttttt, I'm gonna play the odds on this one and go with Cortami.

It was painful at time's and I haven't made it through all the way. 3+ hours is long and hard to find time for. One thing I took from the whole interview was that I made the right choice for myself just to enjoy being a nobody slow beginner racer. I'm ok with that looking at what happens to a lot of my past Hero's of the sport.

Yeah , the injuries these guys go through is Crazy
, hearing about all his injury stories reminds me of Travis Pastrana's story.
He was So Driven and intense, i never realized that he had only raced for 6 years, as in went from beginner to Full on factory pro in 6 years which is awsome in itself but hearing that makes me think his drive and desire out weighed his skill which possibly/ probably lead to some of those injuries , i totally believe him when he says technique wise he would be way better now and that he got faster after he retired and learned more about technique.

The same people that think Ryno is out of his mind are the same people that complain that todays riders aren't transparent enough.

Ryan is a good dude! Just filter through his thoughts and we can all benefit.
This is a shot of us racing hard for mountain bike trophies. He kicked my ass in moto for a long time and when we started racing bicycles together, i finally had the upper hand. We had some great battles for the few years he was into it, maybe he'll come back, now that his moto outlook is going to change, again.

I agree with a lot of what’s said here. Super interesting and painful to listen to at times.

Having done a riding school of his i have only one thing to add. I honestly believe Ryan is not grounded or anchored to a fixed point in his thinking. Throughout his life he appears to have jumped from one extreme to another in his thinking. This comes out with his dramatic changes in his priorities.

I believe this is what has lead to many of his personal life problems. He is unhindged. Everything he says aboythe sport is spot on. But the moment he gets into the philosophical, he’s all over the place. Personally i think he’s too self centred, but that’s a result of his world view. Of course it’s very easy to sit here and critisize; we all deal with this stuff.

With a more balanced outlook one can wonder if perhaps his relationship to his wife and kids might have been different/better.

I have a lot of respect for him talking about stuff that most don’t want to go near. Who, for example, doesn’t have the debate in their heads about being a husband or father, meeting those responsibilities, whilst doing a relatively selfish sport (in terms of the risk) like motocross?

Great interview Ping and GL, keep up the good work on the show!

I was listening to this at the gym and almost dropped a bar bell on my head because I was laughing so hard at the rental car jumping stories ?

And, man the parts where he described being paralyzed and coming home to his wife/kids gone after his divorce were hard to listen to.
