Engine back together. Carb had some Leaking from the bowl, I replace all the orings & bowl gasket. Cleaned up the pipe & sprayed some high temp clear on it. Replaced silencer decal and bent silencer mount for better tire clearance, seems good now.

I used 96 Cr250 lower pipe mount and silencer to pipe rubber connector, they fit perfect!

Just have a few cosmetic areas to clean up & that's it..I will fire it up and make sure everything works but it won't be a rider....I rode it enough to know I have better bikes in the stable....

Nice work. Good to see you were able to fix the silencer clearance problem. I haven’t tried to fit my DEP silencer yet. I’ll post some pics when I do.

I have a 96 CR250 carburetor ready to go. Any tricks to the install? Did you use the Suzuki throttle cable?

Sorry I didn't get back with you on that silencer been extremely busy working like crazy. Soon as I get some time I will let you know maybe we can work out a deal.

Thanks Mdesmond: yes, post up your bike! The 96 Cr carb bolts right on, Suzuki cable & all. Fits into the intake & airbox boots good, make sure the boots are warm, use a blow dryer or heat gun to get the boots plyable, my airbox boot can be a little tough to get on the carb but not sure if it's because it's tighter or my boot has shrunk some, but once on they are fine. I would get the airbox boot on before you tighten down the back of the airbox to the frame. If you haven't already, take the airbox apart & reseal the filter cage frame to the airbox with silicone, the original foam is long gone & it will leak dirt if not resealed!

Gun rue: thanks, no problem on the silencer, I have the Pro Circuit looking & fitting good. If you decide you want to sell the silencer please give me first dibs on it! I am returning this bike to stock as much as possible, as I likely will not ride it much.

Nice! I won't be on this bike! I raced my 92 rm250 last year, had some issues with it but got it sorted now,...I would fire the mechanic but ........it"s me!

This will conclude my refresh, I will fire it up when it gets warmer out. I donot plan on riding this bike in the future, so original front sprocket cover, airbox lid installed. New decals for number plates & swing arm.
I put enough time on the bike to get it dialed in pretty good and it was fun to relive owning my first brand new bike which was an 87 RM 250. the 88"s were improved over the 87"s and I feel the 88"s look much better with the improved gas tank/shroud setup. I also feel this PC pipe is one of the best looking pipes ever made.

Nice build on the 88! I'm completing mine but have a problem. Mine also has a PC pipe, but it did not have the lower pipe mount (bolts to the engine stay). Would you know what fits, the stock pipe did not have one there. If not, could you measure hole to hole? Thanks

First post! It is a 1996 Honda CR250 pipe mount, Think I had to very slightly elongate the holes, then fit perfect....and anytime you can put a Honda part on a Suzuki, you are upgrading the hardware! I also used a muffler rubber connector from the same model Honda for the silencer/pipe joint. Post up some photos of your bike! The builds are the best part of this site.....imo

Mitaka is the basket, had to get it from Europe. Cylinder had to be redone at Millenium. Not too bad of shape, but the chrome was wore out. I may just do a topic on it in the rebuild section. Guess some people enjoy that stuff! Tongue
