Thanks, 454
I noticed a heavy gas smell the first time I changed the oil, which was from the dealer(probably some crappy 10w40 from a big drum). Last night (3rd oil change), the smell was almost non-existant, but still there. My bike runs awesome too, it's just that I never noticed that before on my 2 other thumpers.

Are you running an 09 CRF450? IF so, this has been happening to a few folks. LEaky injectors seem to be the culprit.

Yes sir, I am riding an 09 CRF450. That "Leaky Injectors" problem doesn't sound good.

On a jet engine, yes. Means there is a crack in the fuel/oil cooler core.

My bike is a rocket! But I think I got the model without the jet engine.

Make sure you're not accidentally draining the fuel tank! The stuff that comes out of there smells like gas....

Will do, brother. Do you have tires? Those new Dunlops? I would like to get a set if possible this week.

I got the honda wrench today, basically says don't crack the throttle during warm up, or while taking a slow lap. While at operating race temperature, they say it's fine. While the engine is cool(er) than race temp, if you crack the throttle, it may produce excess fuel that won't make it past the intake valve, which will eventually accumulate to raise the oil level (with gas)

Thanks, Davis. It makes sense. The oil didn't smell, or look like gas was in there on Monday night when I changed it. I naturally follow what the Honda Wrench said to do. This Race Shop forum is my new favorite spot.
