spray down the inside of your fenders with w-d40 the mud wont stick as good, use foam on skid plate gaps, bring a spatula or mixing thing, tear offs, maybe clean up tire with heat cutter, power washer, water, gas. hope that helps all i could remember

Stay home, I know longer depend on racing for as living so why in the hell would I subject myself or my bike to the torture of a mud race.

Good point, stay home, alot easier on yourself, but if your like me, i can't just stay home for reason i don't know why. But I'm a hare scrambler and these are little things i like to do for myself. I use bubble wrap on the top of my helmet, I also like to tape (mines rivetted) an old goggle lens on the end of my visor. I like to tuck a couple cut up peices of towels into my waisband on the side/back of me so if i need to i can wipe my hands on them really quick to clean the mud off them if need be as well.
As for the bike, pretty much what was stated plus i like to make sure my airbox is sealed in the places it looks like water/mud will get through

If it's a mud race on a track wit no rocks I always would lower my tire pressure to as low as I thought I could get away with.

A big set of hand guards and spray everything with a silicon spray. Under the guards, engine, front plate, rad guards etc actually does a better job than WD40 and wont screw with your chain lube, cable lube etc

Wire your grips

Re-route or notch the end of the overflow tubes

If you want to try something else, drop your forks through your triple clamps by 8-10mm the difference will surprise you (as long as your front tyre is still good)

Bit of extra oil in the filter won't hurt either

Another cool thing is check out MSR's Mud Pro Glove, its an awesome glove that has little rubber dimples on them so even if mud does collect, you can still hang onto a sloppy grip. They really work and you don't even know your wearing them. I know everyone has buried a side of the bike in the mud and picked it up only to have mud all over the grips and your gloves, well with these you never have to worry about it at all!
