On some bikes you can use the front downtube as a coolant recovery catch. I know for sure it's been done on the aluminum CR/CRF's. As long as the tube is sealed, you can just add a barb to the bottom and one to the top, run your lines and be done with it.
I'm sorry, drilling holes in frames and repeatedly filling and emptying the frame with hot fluid is something I can't get behind.
If you want to use a recovery system, use that can or similar, don't drill holes in your frame.
That is my product and invention.......Works great and has for many years. Used by factory Kawasaki SM team and on many GNCC 4 strokes for several years.
Modern 4 strokes run HOT - especially if they are ridden Off Road or race in the tight woods where movement is slow.....Or sitting on the line waiting for the gate to drop. What kind of start did you get sitting in a puddle of your own coolant???
How often do you have to add coolant because it boiled out?

I just discontinued including the aluminum bracket as 99% used the zip tie mounting method and it does not reduce the air flow threw the radiator or damage the fins.
If you were riding a track with a concrete start pad, it might be worthwhile.
I've seen more guys sweep their gate clean enough to eat off of only to end up with coolant right in the tire line from a slow 30 second board/gate drop.
I say again, this is not just a catch can. The lost coolant is drawn back into the cooling system, which is great if you are running long, hot races. Nothing like grenading your engine in the desert 50 miles from your truck because you boiled all the coolant off.

I just use a little 4oz container that I zap strap to the frame arm that runs in behind the radiator on my crf. Trim down the overflow hose to fit the shorter length and make sure you angle cut the end that goes into the container so it doesn't seal against the bottom of it.
Total cost.... free. I think the container I reused was the same as people use for fuel tanks for RC planes. Nice part is is that it's clear so you can see how much flows into it and whether it's getting sucked back in.
