I would never trust Fox Instincts, way too soft from the box, almost like a pair of sneakers like someone else mentioned. Sidi is the way to go if you don't want to buy Tech 10's or SG12's imo.

Crossfires protect your toes much better, Instincts feel comfier. I broke toes twice in the Instincts as the toe area is really soft. Crossfires are better IMO

Crossfire TA's for offroad. The SRS are very tight and the ability to change the sole is useless. The part of the boot that wears on the SRS is not replaceable. The TA's have a normal sole which lasts forever but I guess you could resole that, I have not had to do so. The same parts are replaceable as the SRS except the sole which is only the very bottom on the boot but not the sides of the sole where it wears due to shifter, brake.

Anyone have experience with both and can offer their opinions on which is better? I already know I'm gonna get people telling me to buy tech 10's or SG12'S but I'm not interested. I've had both and I'm not super impressed with either. I basically have my mind set on either the instinct or crossfire.

Thanks fellas!

I actually went from Fox instincts to Sidi Crossfires so I can give you a pretty good opinion and I'm a woods rider who love gnarly technical riding. The Fox boot was the most comfortable boot I have ever worn and it felt like wearing sneakers. The negative on the fox boot is that it quickly broke down and the boots did not hold up, that being said Fox was always awesome with there warranty. The Sidi crossfire sr2 and sr3 (I have them both) are almost as comfortable as the fox but a little bit stiffer when new. The Sr2 has better feel on the foot pegs and is easier to move around in slow technical riding over the SR3. The SR3 offers way better ankle support over the SR2 and the Fox instinct and I prefer wearing my SR3 when riding moto or fast open trails. The SR soles wear out pretty quick but they are super easy to replace and I like that you can put a offroad sole on them as a replacement
This helps a lot. Thank you!

I've ordered like 10 pairs of boots from that site (not all for me).
All of them came as described (or even better)

Thanks crusty! Thanks for the repeat business!

agn5009 - We should have some size 11 (45) coming in soon. What exactly are you looking for? Crossfire 2 or Crossfire 3? SRS/TA? What color?

Thanks!

It doesn't matter much as far as I can see they are all very similar. But I suppose the SRS is what I would prefer most. And color, that's a tough one. I like a lot of different colorways on the Sidis. I think the only color I would be opposed to is white. Do you have any idea what colors you'll be getting in?

I went from garne 12 to instincts and yep the instincts are far more comfortable and before that I was tech 10 and both the garne 12 and instincts are more comfortable but I’ve never used the sr’s .. so the instincts were better for me then Alpinestars and garne..looks to me that the sr’s are very snug and fit a particular way.

I have the Sidis and love them. However, they do run a bit narrow compared to other brands. So if you have very wide feet, they may not feel the greatest.

What do you mean by the ability to change the sole being useless and the part of the boot that wears on the srs not being replacable?

I'm on my second set of soles on my SRS2's...way better to spend $60 on new soles than $600 on new boots...That isn't useless.

To me its pretty much useless. Yes you can replace the bottom of the sole. The sidewalls however you cannot. The sole as you know attaches only to the bottom of the boot. What I have found is the sidewall wears from the shifter and brake and the boot is ruined. The TA's though I have never had to, you can resole for $99 and you will get the entire sole, not just the bottom. The other thing is the SRS were so narrow my toes were cramped as hell. With the TA's they are comfortable in the toe box. I wear a 10.5 sneaker so I got an 11 boot and I could not be more comfortable. Actually a little extra room. 11 SRS are cramped and almost unwearable. And to boot(pun intended) they cost less.

Ah, gotcha. I haven't experienced that or had an issue with it, but I can see how that could be an issue.

I love the narrow toe box on the SRS...it fits my skinny feet perfectly. But if you've got wider feet...I'm sure it would suck.

Maybe you keep your feet where you are supposed to. I am hard on boots from the rear brake......Especially in offroad, always on the damn thing.

I wore sidis for a long time, then decided to try instincts. I ended up selling the instincts after a few rides and went right back to sidis. I will never buy anything other than sidis again.

Use to be a huge Sidi person. Wore them forever. Told my son when he got older, we'd get him some.

Bout Sidi crossfire2 SRS, they lasted about 8 months with 3 sole replacements with full set of screws. Basically $100 each time.

Called Sidi, they told me to fill out 50 forms and they might get back to me.

Then we bought a pair of crossfire 2 not SRS. They lasted about a year. I have shoe gooed the soles at least 5 times and there are literally about 25 common screws screwed into the bottom to hold the soles on. Then the sole basically just ripped to shreds.

I called Sidi again, they basically told me to kick sand.

Month ago bought him some Fox Instincts. After a month, you cant even see they've been rode in, sole is virtually untouched. By this time I had replaced a sole or at least shoe gooed the Sidi boots.

Says he loves them, says they are lighter and they are almost broke in out of the box. Except pushing down is a little stiff.

NEVER will I give Sidi another penny of my money. How bout that sand being kicked.

My previous pair was Instincts, now I have Crossfire 2 srs and I think the switch was actually an improvement. Durability: sidi's don't seem china made like the fox boots. They are more of an old school (leather) vs new school (plastic or synthetic leather). You can change every wear part on the sidis within seconds, and they fit more snug, are smaller than instincts and don't smell as bad. Instincts are a bit more comfortable though, I could spend all day in instincts and not even think about taking them off when I'm not on the bike. Both great boots, I would go with Sidis though, if I had to choose again.
