I LOVE the bend of the bars on my 06 YZ450. When (not if) I crash and bend them, I would like to replace them with the exact same bars. Do any Mfg.'s make those or do I need to order them from the Yamaha shop?

The stock bars are Pro Tapers so I am guessing that Pro Taper offers that bend but everywhere I've looked in person and online doesn't offer those.

Today at a local shop I saw two pairs of TAG bars that were blue and emblazoned with the old GYTR logo on the package. I looked all over the box to try to find out what bend they were (e.g., MC, Reed, etc.) and didn't see anything. Are those the stock bend?

Does Renthal make a twinwall with the stock YZ bend?

I also loved the stock YZ bend - I tried a few others and kept going back. Renthal definitely made a twinwall blue YZ bend bar.....though I'm not sure if they still do.

I believe the stock Pro Tapers (5XC-LO bend) are a Yamaha-exclusive thing. You should be able to get them from your dealer though. The new Tags are offered in two bends right now, 966 and 971. How much did the Tags go for? I'm interested in them.

Any link for these shootouts you speak of?

Thanks for your help everyone.

The TAGs I saw were $99 and some change. Same price as the Pro Tapers. I forgot what the Twinwalls were but they were definitely more than $100. I think they were about $125 or something like that.

There should be a protaper number between the dashes on the bar....check in the tucker rocky book for that number and it will tell you which bar it is.

I know when I needed bars for my 2006Yz250f, ordering them from Yamaha they were like $260 but I matched them up....I cant remember for sure but I think it was a pro-taper CR-High.

I figured that dealer would charge something like that for the actual "stock" bars. LMAO! What a joke.

Seems unusual for them to be called "CR High" bend considering how flat and low they are. Maybe it was CR Low?

I know Tag Metals, made a lot of Yamaha bends...I think if you research, you can find what you want, or real, damn close !

Renthal sells a FatBar that they say is the OEM bend. It is 90mm high with 62mm sweep, part number 602-01.

The Cr-Hi that Pro-Taper sells is very similar, 95mm high and 62mm sweep.

By the way, I have my stock YZ '06 bars in the box, I will sell them to you at a great rate! I needed a taller bar (Henry/Reed) and I'm considering going to the Windham bend...

Are you being serious? "Exclusive"?? Or are you being sarcastic?

It seems a little weird that nobody offers those bars.

I used to always run "CR High" bars for some reason. I'm only 5'11" so it's not like I'm KW's size. Now that I am running the stockers on my 06 I realize I should have had low bars all these years. It feels much better to me. Sort of makes the bike "feel" lighter or something. It's probably just my amateurish riding style, but I love those bars.
