Maybe it will be like wrestling. Ronnie mac will pull off and grab a chair and smash it over herlings head just before the finish.

Roczen wasnt too far off Tomac before his bike took a crap in Moto 1 at redbud, no idea if Tomac was cruising. Roczen was within 5 seconds with 10 min or so left. He could pull an upset too?

I wish Gajser was racing, think he would do well there.

All the talk of Herlings and Tomac battling but:

We also have:

Tony
Roczen
Desalle
Barcia

Who could squeeze between Herlings or Tomac if one gets a bad start.

Will suck if they are never near each another lol
Yeah Roczen could play a big factor. Could be pretty strong by then also. Gonna be good no matter what!

I’m the opposite. I want USA to take it of course. I just don’t want anyone laying up. We get to see these guys going at it once a year.

In moto 3 the movie from 2016 at 15:20 Herlings says its always been his dream to ride sx, so where do people get that he doesnt want to from? I swear people make up 75% of the things out there about this guy.

If it's gonna be like Pro Wrestling, Musquin may come rushing onto the circuit on his KTM midway through the final race and take out Febvre or Paulin, maybe both.

You're on to something.

you seem offended just by the fact Herlings doesnt want to race in USA .. Laughing

you are right , it was his dream when he was young., his idol was James Stewart ..Herlings started with his 259 number
He even went to USA for a try out , didnt like it and missed his family too much
His dream changed to break Everts record of 10 titles and 101 GP's ..

Im not offended at all lol, you can really imagine a lot from a couple words. Im just saying how everyone that seems to think he never had any intention of racing sx is dead wrong. Im happy for him if he wants to chase Everts, he has 0 450 championships so far so he has a lot of work ahead of him thats going to take complete dedication.

I am a bit concerned that Tomac is going to switch to the 2019 Kawasaki for this race. I'd rather he stay on the 2018 for this race. All these guys are so particular about their bikes..why not change after the race? It took a year to get comfortable on the present bike

Maybe he thinks the base setting is better, im sure he has ridden the bike and feel comfortable or he wouldn’t make the switch yet.

I'm hoping cairoli can be a winner. The guy still has good speed and the determination. Having nearly 10 years on most of these guys but unfortunately he doesn't have much too race for. Its all about herlings vs roczen for me!

Keep telling yourself that. Anderson pulled the holeshot, but Herlings was faster. The previous day Herlings won the qualifying race, and Anderson was 14th.

But sure, if Tomac pulls the holeshot and Herlings is outside the Top 10, Tomac is gonna win. But that's probably the only way.
Anderson broke his foot in the saturday 14th place finish and won the Moto against Herlings Sunday while riding with said broken foot (in fact besides getting landed on after his 2016 MXdN moto win against Herlings and requiring related medical attention for that crash , Anderson had a plate removed from his foot last Fall 2017 after the outdoor season, so considering Anderson won his first and only MXdN Moto with a broken foot that required multiple surgeries as late as one year ago , that's a bit impressive).

Had JA not broken his foot Saturday MXdN 2016 and wouldn't have been landed on after winning Sundays Moto then Sunday as a whole may have been much more entertaining.

I'mm sure JA21 would've been at last year's MXdN if he wasn't having a plate removed from his foot from the 2016 injury last fall 2017.

He risked quite a bit as does everyone at that event for no money and the 2016 MXdN definitely derailed JA's 2017 Supercross season potentially costing him much money yet he's willing to race the MXdN right now asking to be selected.

Not a huge JA fan but I have to admire his effort.

All the talk about Herlings and Tomac ain't ridiculous. We get to see the two fastest riders in the world race at the same time. Why is it ridiculous that people are excited about that?

Never knew that. Remember him on a 85 Suzuki battling with Anstie but I'm 100% sure he rode with #84 those days.

"MXlarge: Motocross of Nations, you have been selected, but it isn’t known yet what class you will race. When will that be decided?

Herlings: I am riding the 450 but haven’t decided which class. Obviously, it is me, Calvin and Glenn and Calvin will ride MX2 and either Glenn or I will race MXGP or the Open class, but we haven’t decided yet. I don’t mind which class I race, but its up to the Federation.

MXlarge: You had raced the open class in the past.

Herlings: Yes, because I am pretty fit, and it gives Glenn a longer time to recover from the MXGP moto. Normally the class is similar, maybe MXGP is tougher, but I don’t know which class Tomac and Roczen are riding, maybe the MXGP class.

MXlarge: Obviously the hype is about you and Tomac and against Roczen. You got to be excited about that as a racer, right?

Herlings: Definitely, I am looking forward to it and our main thing is to win this championship and then look at the des Nations. Of course Tomac wants to win his championship and I want to win mine and this is just a one-off race. Its important, but I won’t lose any sleep if I get beaten there. Our priority is to win the world championship."

I don’t get the arrogance of all the talk about how herlings will wipe the floor with eli. What consistent evidence do you have to compare their speed?? They both beat each other by 30 seconds at WW. “Herlings went 1-1 at ironman”...anyone with eyes and a brain could see eli was having no trouble keeping up with him until he landed in a pile of dirt. The went into obvious cruise control after the 2nd lap of the first moto. I’m not saying herlings won’t win but the notion that eli won’t be able to keep up, based on what we’ve seen, is rediculous and has no basis
I Think they are both quite equal except for deep sand but remember that herlings was going faster than MM at ironman and MM did straight up beat tomac and was faster most of the later races leading up to ironman last year.

You can't compare the Tomac 17 and the Tomac 18 as they are not quite the same in term of speed. He did struggle last year with the setup and the circonstances of his supercross title loss against Dungey.

This year Eli remind me of the 2015 ET ! I believe he has the edge on Jeffrey just like C.Webb in 2016 during Charlotte MXGP.

Herlings in deep sand, sure... Tomac in supercross, absolutely. Remember that Tomac is 1-1-1-1-1-3 in his 6 MXGP Moto's. Including beating Herlings by 38 seconds in Moto 1 of the USGP last year. It's close... And what could be better for MX fans?

I do think Barcia might be a standout in the Open class...

' Tomac didn't jive Well on the 2017 bike and was much better on the 2018. That was obv in the nationals When he could run 3/4 sec per lap faster than MM25 or KR94 When he needed to. He was faster and more consistent in 2018. This 2019 bike is suppose to be a vast improvement over the 2018 and it looks like he jive Well with it. I know JH84 is damn good but When ET3 is on i don't think at Redbud anyone can touch him. I could be wrong but i think at Redbud ET3 is gonna walk over everybody. Again, i could be wrong, JH84 is a bad cat but a dialed in ET3 is unreal fast. My money would be on ET3 and not just because is American, just because i've seen what he can do when he's on the right bike and now i think he finally is.'

Does anyone know the bike rules?
FIM and AMA are quite different specs. Are European “Works” bikes allowed?

The thirds biggest Road Race event in Australia has been almost destroyed by a stupid rule change.
Avgas has been banned. Most international teams won’t show, as totally retuning their bikes for one meeting isn’t viable.

If Hearlings has to learn a new bike, and track, he’s hardly on a level playing field as someone who recently raced (and set his bike up) at the same track.

Even if they race in Red Bud they have the same rules as any other MXoN, works bikes like in the world championship

I'm glad to see that The Netherlands have done the right thing and put Jeffrey in MXGP. Their only chance of winning is to put Herlings up against Tomac and try to rattle him by beating him every time they are on track. It might not work exactly like that, but they've at least themselves a chance

I disagree tho, he could pull away just as much then as now, i think the difference is that mm was way faster last year then this year. Remember Mm's offseason?
