You put that track anywhere in the country and could get full gates. It's beautiful!!!

shocking. this is so surprising that an electric motor that does not rely on air and fuel to make power holeshots on an uphill start at high elevation or that it can be turned on and started much faster than anyone on a gas engine bike that requires it be turned over

this is why it has no place against combustion engines.
If you start crying about new technology then what about all of the development on the new gas bikes traction control, auto clutch, slipper clutch, different mapping, race fuel and the list goes on?

The Alta is not any faster than a 450 (its actually slower) it just has a different power delivery which you need to learn. No one pass me on the uphill and I didn’t pass anyone it just ran even with any other bikes. The Alta was in the front wave, right with the other guys in each moto start. I believe Chuck Sun was on a 350 Husky and I stayed with him on the uphill. After racing the Alta the big advantage is how it goes in and out of the corners.

The only thing I can say is don’t bad mouth it until you try one and if you do let me know how you get the smile off your face?

I think the AMA got this one right. They have included electric bikes in any open cc class for amateur racing in 2018. Even though the electric motor is not measured in cc's, open = unlimited.

this isnt anti electric talk. its motorsport racing, motorsport racing is based on using "relatively" simliar equipment and engines as the "sport" side is dependent on skill. when the equipment in use overshadows the skill of a rider it takes away from the competition.

I dont think 125 vs 250f or 250t vs 450 is fair.
when 250f's appeared they were a privateer weapon and almost always pulled holeshots against top tier 125's. it negated a riders skill. but if you put the riders on the same displacement the better rider 'typically' does better.

all im saying is race electric vs electric, 125 vs 125 etc. Auto racing has no issue with this so why does ours?

This sport is so small, and dividing it up into even smaller segments is self defeating. 90% of the result is rider based anyway. Ultimately we have a bunch of dudes racing each other on the dirt on 2 wheeled machines. The rest is just semantics.

Phillip when you say “when the equipment in use overshadows the skill of a rider it takes away from the competition.” Are you saying that if I road my Kawasaki 450 I wouldn’t of done as well? What about someone who has a highly modified bike versus a stock bike does that take away or add to the skill of a rider?
Let me clue you in if you were to race a Alta you would be in the same place plus or minus a spot you would normally be in. The bike is very competitive has it advantage and disadvantage it has a whole different power delivery and takes a certain skill set to make it competitive. You might want to try race one before you start putting it down.just saying.

It needs its own class. I saw the two stroke die over stupidity.... do not want to see it happen to the four stroke.
