Someone correct me if Im wrong here. Whats the value to having a Racing budget of that proportion over offering Co-Op deals with local dealers and supporting the people that push the bikes out the door? Let's pull this back to the grass roots level. The sport is spending these kids before they make it to 21.

I feel like a 12 year old school girl here with all this gossip, but this is what I have heard. A friend of mine who has been in contact with Mark Pelligrino, father of Kyle Regal, said the Ansties were staying with them the week prior to Whitney. During that week a crate showed up from KTM with Ansties new bike in it, the one that is said to be the Factory bike from Europe.
As far as the fight goes at Oak Hill, Coby Adair was right there with Jason as he came off the track, so he witnessed everything and said Darla never once laid a hand on Devon. Authorities did show up at the track and all the allegations against Darla were dismissed after numerous witnesses all denied she hit Devon. What sucks now though is that Donovan, Devon's brother, has posted all this BS on the other forums making the Andersons look like the worlds biggest losers! Anyway, hope this is somewhat accurate, but it is all hearsay. Just like TaxSlayer put it, the Anderson's weren't the ones DQ'd. If all the allegations against them were true you would think they would have been asked to leave as well.

I was there myself, and this isn't an agent thing and me defendeing my guy. This is straight up the deal. By the way if my client or clients parents acted in an incorrect way I would call them out on it for sure.
What happened at Oak Hill in the last moto of the day was without a doubt one of the most ridiculous incidents I have ever seen in my 30+ yrs experience in the industry. Just for everyone's knowledge I will break down what happened. I was in the tower as were many of the factory team team managers watching the race and lap times.
Off the start Vincent gets the start and Jason is in 2nd, Max 3rd, and Eli 4th. Jason makes his way up to Vincent and gives him a little more than a love tap out of the way (Vincent crashes) in a right hander just past the first set of whoops. Jason bobbles and Max gets within about 5 bike lenghts of Jason. The next 3-4 laps are great as both Jason and Max put on a great display of riding and are just flying around the track. The white flag comnes out and as they approach the the first whoop section Max gets a great drive off the tabletop leading into a left hander just prior to the whoops. As Jason takes one the wider lines into the corner (there were about 3 lines in the corner) Max squares him up and shoots underneath him. As he does this he takes out Jason's front wheel (not much different than what Jason did to Vincent just 10 minutes earlier), and by doing so puts himself off the track just by a few feet and then gets back onto the track and finishes the race.
That is what happened on the track. I can tell you this, I saw more dirty moves in the first practice at STL SX yesterday that did not result in people getting up in arms or being ejected from a race.
After the moto was over (again I am still in the tower, now looking out the back of the tower on the balcony) I was watching what was going to happen as Max was doing an interview with the Vurb guys. As Jason rides off the track he stops right by Max and revs his bike, which is no big deal as I would have probably done the same. He was pissed and wanted it to be know. No biggie. The next thing that happens is that the parents of Jason start going bananas as were the Vincent's parents. I do not know exactly what either of their parents look like as I have only seen them on a couple of occasions, but the people that are around me watching this with me tell me that is who it is. At this stage, Wes Kain (the announcer) runs over to break it up. During this whole time Max nor his father Merv are not saying a thing or being confrontational. It is the other parents going crazy at the situation.
After that settled down, I made my way over to the KTM pits to check on Max. As I arrive at the pits, everyone arround is screaming crazy things and tons of profanity towards Max, his dad, and all of the KTM people. Max gets off of his bike and goes directly inside the KTM semi with his dad and Devin. I walk in behind a track official and see how Max is as he begins the process of getting his gear off.
At this point Max is fine and I speak to the official for a minute and everything appears to be in order from Max's side. I walk outside the semi and things are settling down a bit although the parents are still screaming crazy things towards Max and his dad, who are inside the semi truck.
I do not understand how you DQ a rider that really did nothing. Racing is racing and some times guys go down. If these parents think that what happenbed to their respective children was so unfair then I suggest they quite racing right now, becasue the hits you take as a Pro are about 20 times harder. Hell, last night I saw Travis Pastrana (one of the nicest all around guys in the world) hit a rider so hard he broke his radiator, and no one got DQ'd nor did any fights break out after the race. Wow, I have hit my teamates, they have hit me, I have taken them out and vice vera. Again this is racing and things happen.
Now, whatever underlying current there may be is not what is important, nor do I know or care about personal differences of amateur parens, Max got DQ'd from the entire event for unsportsman like conduct and riding. The only unsportsman like act's I viewed was from the parents of the other riders, yet they were allowed to stay and race.
As far as Max getting better engines and special equipment, I seriously doubt it. I watched 6 or 7 of his motos and I watched him get 1 holeshot. The rest of the motos he worked his way to the front and either won or got second with laptimes faster than everyone else. I do know this, Max rides more than any other rider I know, professional or not, and is working hard to obtain his dream. I think after Mini O's when Max got his backside handed to him he went to work and his work is now paying dividends.
Now as for the punching incident, I did not personally see that, so I cannot and will not express any views on that. The only thing I am writing about are the things I saw with my own eyes. I like Jason and he has always been a really respctful person to me as has his parents. As for Vincent, I do not know them at all before this weekend. I do not know what got into everybody this weekend, but it was very ugly and unecessary. Max is a great kid and very nice and is really working hard to be the best he can be.
That is not a side of the story, it is just what I witnessed.
There seem to be about 8 versions of who did what , it is over move on.
Maybe this along with the economy will make the manufacturers really cut back on their amateur programs. These kids have so much pressure at such young ages it is crazy.
I know that was what I was thinking.

I mean he is only going to be reaping a percentage of everything the kid makes for the duration of their contract...yup unimpeachable source......lol.
I don't t kow if this rats nest willever unravel but it is better than a soap opera, that's for sure.
Is i right? I don't know but it is working. My bitch is the cost of bikes, parts, entry fee's etc is pricing the average working family right out of the sport and paying some of these kids $250,000 can't be helping.

It is completely unfair to run a competition of true Amateurs - not paid or rewarded in anyway against competitors that receive any assistance in equipment or anything that would provide an unfair advantage. While sponsorship has gotten larger and larger, it has pushed aside the true roots of the sport.
I understand it is money, but it is also as incorrect as can be. For the sake of the competitors, parents and manufacturers. It should be showroom stock. Then the standard is clear. I can appreciate engine builders trying to make money, but when money is involved rules are forcefully broken.
Simply put. Remove the word Amateur. Call it professional.
