"Heartbroken" I'd say that's laughable.

I think more accurately Stewart was "up for the challenge" as he proved that he was willing to risk it all to win/compete. How many other riders were as up for the challenge as James proved to be? Does he get any credit for trying and being closer than anyone else?

Or maybe you're new to the sport and didn't watch the clip.

I had the pleasure to watch both Tripes and Chandler ride in their prime and
while both were fast riders with Magoo being the faster of the two mentioned (in my opinion),
make no mistake about it. RC was by FAR faster than both of the others.

Outdoors it was RC and James had to catch him and that was exciting.. Stephon is right there was noone that would challenge RC in outdoors except James.. Watching James last outdoors go undefeated was unbelievable but it wasn't exciting to watch.. I want James to win every race but its so exciting watching RC and James battle and see who comes out on top.. indoors James was the faster rider and RC had to challenge it was just as exciting

So based on the last two sentences of your post, you are saying that james deserves respect for actually trying to challenge RC outdoors. So why doesn't Chad get the same respect for being the only one to try and challenge " The fastest man on the planet" indoors.

That jump on to the step up at the 1:00 mark for the pass was nuts.
RC could just find another gear it seemed sometimes.

Those were some awesome races to watch.

What a dumbass post, I was there that day and RC crashed out, the DesNations was a couple of weeks away, and RC couldn't ride, Stewart went 1-1 that day...

Windham beat RC, Reynard almost beat RC, and some others.

James was EXPECTED by so many to just crush RC, and that just never happened.

Shhhhhh, don't tell the truth here! I was watching the 03' outdoor season on my DVR the other day when Windham beat RC and got to thinking it was funny some "sucklers" always say noone took it to RC except Stewart.

Maybe you've been in the sport for several years, maybe you haven't I don't know. I'd like to think that any real fan of the sport, especially the outdoors would respect the effort of anyone who was able to stay that close to RC after the first lap. I said "respect" not "like".

If you think Stewart has rose-colored glasses what do you think of Windham, Ferry, Short, etc?? You must think those guys should have their licenses pulled by the AMA. How exactly do you "refuse to watch Bubba" ride?

First off, "The fastest man on the planet" stuff is stupid.

I don't recall any references to Reed in the last two sentences or anywhere else in my post.
Of course Chad gets credit for doing his best to challenge James week in and week out. How does one "not" recognize Chad's effort? Do you watch the races?

Listen, I don't have to put down another rider to make a different rider look better. That's 14 year-old behavior.

I was there as well and the biggest reason Stewart went 1-1 that day was because RC got hurt, but the battle was incredible while it lasted. RC had Stewart mostly covered outdoors.

James made a mistake, and RC jumped past, now was it because RC was riding over his head to stay in front or just a racing accident?...

They both were riding on the ragged edge, RC just was more experienced at that point and James was still getting acclimated to the pace.

Anyone who has any clue at all would conclude from that clip that BOTH those guys are incredible. Nothing but props from me for both of them.

Well, with RC's track record I'd venture to say it was more of "things happen when you go that fast" vs. him just being completely out of control, but I didn't see when/where he injured himself.

Let's not forgot that RC won 6 straight overalls in '07 and then walked away. James is obviously an animal in MX it's just that RC was a little bit more of an animal.

Well, we could start a whole new topic on that...Wink
