Haas team should be looking for a new driver. Grosjean is a putz.

Brendan Hartley scored points, becoming the first Kiwi since Chris Amon in 1977 to do so in formula 1

His left right tire was on a white stripe. Pretty sure that`s what caused it.

As 1911 said it was a real shame for the team. Destroyed what could have been their best result. On the bright side I guess you could be in the Red Bull garage this week-end. Still that's unacceptable in my opinion.

He is saying whilst weaving to warm the tyres he hit a switch which unbalanced the car apparently.

At least he's not still trying to blame it on someone else.

Wow what a race I tend to watch F1 when it's on but I made sure I recorded this one.

I do not normally like Street circuits other than Monaco of course but that track in Baku was pretty freaking cool with those old historic buildings trackside.

And there was actually room for passing something you don't normally find on a street circuit.

I couldn't believe the Red Bull guys going at it like that reminded me of the old Honda days when Bayle would not help his Teammate.

Was it Stanton or MXkied?
Honda actually benched him for a race cuz they were worried he was going to take him out or take away points, now there's some teamwork!

But anyway yeah great race and I'm going to have to watch the rest of the season seems to be a lot of drama and Ferrari guys going against McLaren and Redbull fighting it out was pretty cool.

Then to see the Mexican dude Perez slip in on the Podium, talk about an underdog! Woohoo

Baku seems like a cool place to visit.

If gro hit was enuff g force on the recorder to roll the med car I saw a dozen places where the safe wall stopped way short . Get it wrong and be like dead.

Great race tho ,the f2 races were just as good.

Changes for '19

The F1 Commission and the World Motor Sport Council approved a number of regulation changes on Monday for the 2019 Formula One season.

Among the changes are a simplified front wing with a larger span and low outwash potential, a simplified front brake duct with no winglets and a wider and deeper rear wing.

These changes are being made to further promote overtaking in Formula One competition, something that has become a bit of a rarity in modern Formula One racing.

In addition to the above changes, there will be an increase in the amount of race fuel to allow drivers to race for longer periods, a separation of driver weight from car weight to end any disadvantage to heavier drivers and drivers will now be required to wear biometric gloves.

I was looking at the McLaren front wing as they were about to put it on the car. Good racing it doesn't make but a piece of art it most certainly is.

Not sure I understand what they mean by larger span. Wider than it already is? Or are they just going to do away with all the winglets and frippery that they have on them now days?

Looks like they want the air to go over the car but not have yhe front wing push a wide hole through the air. If I was in charge I'd limit the under tray and the down force it provides.
It's really funny when you talk to professional drivers they all want a car that it takes a "real driver" to handle. Then when they get a car that has less down force to accentuate a drivers "ability" they pitch a fit how the cars don't handle.

Hamilton has some questionable taste. Some of his casual clothing decisions are a bit out there

(sort of) off topic of F1 but did you see Alonso did his first WEC race this weekend and won it. He's caused a bit of a stir because one of the rounds of the championship has actually had a date change to accommodate him and I guess the other teams are not too happy about it.

I posted about Alonso having a busy 2018 schedule awhile back. At first he was going to miss 1 round of WEC but Toyota managed to have on of the race dates moved so he could race.

I don't follow that series but good to know he won. Hope he lands on a good F1 team next year. A few guys are on their last year of contract.

Ferrari mirror upgrade. First team to mount them on the halo. Wonder if others will follow suit.
