i live in marysville ha ha, that is nice though. funny thing is back in march i started one up that hadnt been started in over 15 years. what a pain in the ass. about 80 kicks to get her to fire and the thing vibrates like nothing ive felt in some time

I went with a buddy one time to test ride an 85 CR500. I shit you not, at 170lbs i was practicly jumping up and down on the kickstarter and couldnt get it to move wearing tennis shoes. The dude who owned it, who was about 6'4" and 230lbs casually kicked it over a bunch of times till it fired up.

I felt like i lost some of my dirtbike street-cred that dayBlush

there was nothing casual about it. about every 15 kicks a i took a rest. i was 225 then now im 180lbs now. you had to kick it all the way through. . i dont know if its im riding a new 450 now and times have changed but i dont remember my 89 kx 500 vibrating like that thing did.

I've never ridden a 500, but my dad used to ride em back in the day, and in about '98 he bought an '87 YZ490 out of the paper, and that thing was such a bitch to start. He would be huffing and puffing, red in the face, goggles fogged up by the time he got it going. He finally started putting his goggles his on after, and he'd have me stand close and keep the idle up so it didn't die again, and my hand would be shaking for a few minutes after because it vibrated so hard, and it was so scary and intimidating as a little kid. Good stuff!
