The only thing that ruined the pass was Marvin's attitude. The guy let the boos get to him after the race. He was at a loss of words during the interview and seemed bummed about the pass. He needs to man up and own it, he just won the race! Be proud! What an emotional fragile being.

Yikes. That could have been Eli’s hand. Lucky.

Marvin had to do whatever he could do. I mean it's still a long shot at the title but he needs every point he can get. Tomac has no mathematical chance. If he was in Marvin's spot he would of done the same thing.

He can't own it because it was a bs move. He knew that as soon as it happened.

I'm afraid to look at the main forum page. Probably already 3 of them started.

I agree somewhat with the reference to Tomac's antics from Vegas last yr coming back around with this (karma if you will), and yeah, it's exciting to watch as a fan with nothing at stake, of course it is. Drama is exciting.

However from a purely observational pov I don't think you can blame Eli for being pissed there. It was very late because Eli was already well past the apex of the corner and accelerating out. I didn't agree with the Anderson pass on Musquin much earlier on in the year for the same reasons.

Marvin felt bad about taking out someone. Not surprising.

Eli is pissed that someone took him out. Not surprising.

Nothing here is surprising.

Lol come on, eli exited the 180 on gas and Marv was entering it and aimed straight for him and it was pretty much a head on lol. I'm fine with aggressive passes but lets just call it what it was, a takeout. But it was for the win so there is that.

Imo he what that is showing
Is that he intended to try to make an aggressive pass
But he didn't mean for Eli to crash .
You can see it how ever you like
But that's what his actions after the race
Say to me.

It looked like a nasty take out but actually if we look at the lines & slow mo, it looks more that Tomac made a (little) mistake;
I am sorry but after a pass for the lead, a few corners later, don't cut so short on the most inside line while the other rider has no clue about it as he was infront the full race, it is waiting for something like this to happen.
Had Tomac just took the 2nd line, which was also quite inside, he would have won...
It happens, it is racing, it was just a bit crazy to see it !

Eli was in the same spot 45 seconds earlier and made a clean move though...

Eli made a brilliant race and late pass but he assumed too early that he had it in the bag. No way he should have left MM any opportunity at all for retaliation. Eli F’d up.

Eli is mad at himself. Guaran got dam Teed.

Regardless of whether the pass was dirty or not etc, I don't think the "he cut down harder than Marvin was expecting" argument can realistically hold water with this one. As you can see in the pic below (borrowed from another thread), MM has no reason to be where he is other than to make contact - which in itself IS perfectly fine imo if Eli wasn't already past the apex and committed...

Imagine Eli wasn't there at all, it's certainly not the most efficient line for Marvin otherwise.

The difference between a good aggressive (but clean) block pass, and something dirty (or let's be charitable here and say; reckless...) comes down to a matter of timing. Not what's at stake. These guys know exactly what constitutes good etiquette vs bad etiquette, even us amateurs do really - irrespective of whether it's for 18th etc, or the win.

Marvin has nothing to apologize for, especially if he wants to win in the future against his two buddies.
Gonna need more, she’s a tough sport.

People bagged on Cole for getting hammered all the time. Can’t win I guess.

How many riders flying home with a nice win would give a poop? You won’t need two hands to count.

Eli is a great racer, and to see the top guys battle it out is why seats aren’t $4 each.

Races are done. You'll have to wait until later tonight or tomorrow for someone to have uploaded them.

That’s what I was asking, if anyone has a link for a replay. I have to wait until tomorrow at 5 PM if not

As a fan of Eli.. screw you Marv. As a fan of good racing. Nice pass Marv. I think he said it best on the podium. It was for a 450 supercross main event win (not to mention the win bonus) Eli will have his chance the next couple weeks.
