Late? I'm a West (CA) guy, and I rarely go to bed before midnight.

So....if a rider "did" test positive...he wouldn't get booted from the series , or maybe a couple rounds? Not saying they should either , just askin'. And what if a rider does test positive the night of the race....would Feld let that rider on the track......just trying to figure out the rules here.

I'm not sure what the penalties are. My guess is that it might vary depending on what the positive was for. At least to me, a banned cold medicine wouldn't seem to have the same kind of penalty as a true performance-enhancing drug.

Also, since you brought it up, Jeffro, it takes weeks for the results to come back, and the testing happens post-race.

I came up hot on a random whizzer in '96 and the company allowed me to continue driving a commercial vehicle for a week after the test. Even partied with the training foremen of our department.

Was it not a liability for them to let me operate their vehicles with said foremen knowing I was "hot"? Would Feld not be liable for letting someone who is hot compete in their events?

Does it really matter what any of the riders do off the track I mean if they went about and flaunted it I wouldnt agree Test for the roids and performance enhancing stuff but really I just wanna see the race I am not into the realiity tv stuff. They might just find it hard to get a sponser and a ride but if they wanna be dicks off the track so be it.

A drug test in competitive sport is supposed to find performance enhancements. EPO, Steroids, Antihistamines, uppers etc. The illegal drugs is just a secondary bonus to penalize someone for safety/misconduct.
I am sure that with all of the trainers now in our sport, and most with cycling backgrounds...the amount of endurance type enhancements are probably around and well hidden.....ask Floyd Landis

My girlfriend saw the podium interview with him at Daytona and asked me if he was a meth user or previous meth user because of his teeth. I said, I have no idea but there is speculation of drug use or maybe just needs some whitener.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Meth mouth I think causes loss of teeth. Plus, I doubt he would be racing at the level he is if he was using meth. Pretty hard and dangerous drug.

Transworld had the spy photos and stated that yamaha and honda dropped there factory teams in Japan. Doubt that would happen here...more bikes are sold here then in any other country. You really think honda and yamaha would do all this testing and making all these changes to EFI just to drop there racing program here? Japan's mx series doesnt make or brake them. However, in the states it would have a much bigger affect on them if they were to drop there factory teams completely.

Damn. Maybe it's only me, but their "discussions" are really funny and make this place sparkle! Humor is the best thing. Again, maybe only my sick brain working...

Carry on...
