yes I see, I also have LightSpeed frame guards on my CRF 05 ' but i think they are more stronger that the DSP frame guards.
The DSP are light and very beautiful but not strong... just after 1 hour they are already attacked Sad

Great build. What was the cost of bringing this bike back to this level of condition? I have considered it but a TC250 wouldn't be much more.

Thanks nascarnate326!

I did not do the math. The price of a rebuild is quite expensive in general, and me I am far from some guys who make renovations to amazing levels.

Some news from my CR 2001. Although I really like the look that it currently has, I think I'll edit it in vintage mode. I'm going to remove my mudguard and my plate from CRF 2016

The main changes will be:
- Vintage factory style front plate with fender 2001
- Renthal vintage handlebar foam
- Honda original radiator hose
- translucent white mud flap
- white and red OEM plastic kit
- vintage seat cover
-original graphic kit or woody graphic kit

Guys i need your help: I am looking for several pieces for my 250 CR of 2001.

- a OEM shift lever (ref: 24700-KZ3-J20): it costs more than 100 € at HONDA Blink
-a guide hose brake front "style HRC" (I found true HRC but it's 70 € !!!)
-I also look for a Renthal handlebar cover in red plastic with the vintage writings straight as in the picture below.
If someone has good plans or a few pieces and he wants to sell them to me then I'm interested. Thank you

I have received the UFO HRC replica translucent front number plate.

But little probem: not very fit. There is a big gap between the fender and the plate.

I made a small aluminum piece to solve the problem.

The bike already has a more fun and vintage look.

Today I installed the OEM cooling hoses.

I changed the recent stop engine button by the classic and original button for CR.

Really nice work.I just disassembled my 01 cr250r and the clutch cable was routed through the upper motor mounts,I noticed yours was running outside..not sure if it’ll affect performance routed that way.awesome rebuild.

Thank you Action69.
Yes you're right for the clutch cable: I received the user manual and indeed it is recommended to place the clutch cable inside motor mounts.

I have a problem with the throttle cable: it is too tight and seems very short: I have the screw on the carbu and throttle screwed to the maximum but almost no margin...
When I turn the handlebars on the left, the cable is even more tense. Any ideas?

Two things that come to mind -are the handlebars wider than Oem therefore putting the throttle further out?
Are you using a year specific Oem throttle cable? Because I’ve seen aftermarket ones stating they fit multiple year bikes yet the Oem cable is specific to 00-01.just a thought..

Yes i know a lot of things are very specific about this bike. I may have to install an OEM cable yes ... but they are expensive (33 € = 36$).
I just ordered the OEM gasket protection rubber to prevent dust and dirt from getting into the case

My Handlebar is a renthal but I do not know the length of that if compared to the origin, but in fact the longer the handlebar is longer and more the throttle is moved away from the steering column.

The OEM gas box cover has arrived.

Next step: buy an original gas cable at the right length because the adapatbles are too short.

I have the bar pad you are looking for that i've been saving for a build i'll probably never do, But I'm in Florida, USA so don't know how expensive shipping would be.

Problem solved: it was the adaptable cable that was too short.
A tip: buy only Honda cables for your CR. they are at the right size and much more flexible.

I also recovered the original hose of the tank cap.
