Ktm 200sx build

Started collecting parts for hopefully the ultimate small bore 2 stroke. The motor is an 06 xc-w 200 and was only started twice. I have athe power valve controller, cdi, tranny, and a few extra sx pipes to go with it. Engine is getting done up with the close ratio tranny at the moment. I’m looking for a roller or a blown up 125/150 12/15 chassis. I’ll be using Trax shock and cone valve forks.

I’m looking for sxs calipers if anyone knows of a clean used set. It’ll be a how minute before I actually get the bike together. I may jus throw the motor in my current 150 until I can get a solid roller.

I’m actually getting impatient looking for a roller so I may just throw the motor in my current 150. I really want to check out the motor!

Throw it in your 150 chassis. That thing is mint. Then you have a backup motor haha unless you have to modify for the 200 to fit in the mounts.

I think that’s pretty much going to be what happens. That is unless I find a roller or a cheap 125/150 soon.

what cdi are you using if you dont mind me asking? is it for a 125/150 or was it made for a 200sx?

Not to bad. I’m actually picking the motor up this evening. I went ahead and had the sx transmission installed, sx piston, new bearings, and pv governer. I only have a few weeks to get it together or it will end up sitting in a shelf for a while due to work schedule.

Ktm bolts really suck. Luckily I was able to dig deep through all my ti bolts and had enough to do the motor.

This motor is basically plug and play into the chassis. Even the 06 silencer bolted right on perfect. The only part that doesn’t work is the head stays. I will have to cut them and re drill new holes. I cannot be more happier with build that just works. No modifications to pies or anything. I’m hoping to start it within the next hours. It’s gonna vibrate pretty good, but that’s ok.

Man i'd love to have a 200sx, I've got a new TC250 and it rips but its really demanding on the fitness side to ride fast but maybe a 200 would be a fun play bike.

Yup, hopefully it’s exactly that balance. It felt great on a field but, there’s not much to compare to a track.
