1980 NMA Motorcycle Grand National Championships- I grabbed the holeshot in the 100 Modified class. And lead for the first half lap, then when going through some switchbacks and stuff in the back half of the track I began to hear someone WFO never shutting off. In less than a moment Ron Lechien passed me.

I thought "Shit, he's flying and sitting down the whole time while pulling away!" He cornered like lightening.

DeAnza Cycle Park - Back in 1988 I was practicing on my 87 YZ250 & Dr. Doug Dubach passed me while riding YZ80!

Oh man, i have a few

Elsinore in its hayday... 03-06

Me and my pops were out riding the vet track, and im feeling great like im rolling passing all these dudes being a practice day hero...Then it happens, on run up to the back tabletop i hear this buzzing ass 125 I mean pinned, its none other than james stewart... who scrubbed by me like he was going warp speed... I was like holy fucking shit... he was gone.

Once again riding at elsinore this time on the GFI race track in the back corner. Loved that track and thought i was rolling once again. Sarah whitmoore passed me on the outside edge of tabletop and looked back at me...I got real pissy after that and tried to keep up because i didn't want to be passed by a girl and washed my front end out in the next corner trying to match her speed.. To this day i still think she hates me because i was just enough outside the main line to be in the way, but i was rolling lol

Another one, me and my buddy were at glen helen on a thursday like a week or two before the nationals start.(worse idea ever for him, he was legit mad). Anyway james stewart was there testing on his suzuki and tyla rattay etc and a bunch other. I'm riding OK, kinda shitty like i forgot how to shift my bike that day or something... as I'm riding almost to the top of the hill before mt.st helen thinking im all alone (kinda being oblivious). Right as i hit the end of the apex of the turn i see this suzuki hit the inside rut so fucking hard i thought it moved and right as i hit the lip and glided like 10ft... james is scrubbed over and lands like 30ft past me... WFO! he roosted me so damn hard when he landed (no chest protector). I legit pulled off the track at the bottom before going up mt.st helen and watched him for like 3 laps.

Later that same fateful glenhelen day like an hour later at most, I'm coming around to this back sand straightaway and i miss shift like a spode on the righthand side and as soon as i blink tyla rattay on his pro circuit bike was just gliding on the sand leaned back.... At that point i gave up, and realized A. I'm never ever going to be pro speed and B. I really suck.

Same Fateful Glenhelen day, my buddy on his 125 came around to the front grandstand double while trying to keep up with a localpro, and overjumped the double to flat by a good 10ft and shot of the side of the track... was one of the funniest damn moments of my life because, when he rolled back to the pits his handlebars were rolled back into his lap like he was riding carmichaels honda and he was all pissy because of the deep ruts..I still heckle him to this day about that.

I used to run the Florida round of the GNCC when I lived there. Back in about 2010 I was lapped in a two hour race, on a 14 mile long track by a 62 year old man, I was about 48 or 49. He started 1 minute ahead of me, that man was your 8 time National Enduro Champion, Dick Burleson. It was humbling to say the least.

Ha--- Dick Burelson you say. I took one of his 3 day riding classesnear Traverse City and at the Upper Peninsula in 89. We were driving back over the big bridge connecting the upper to the lower. It was fkn cold out and the windows were up. I heard the window locks cycle and then Dick looked over at me and smiled......the MF'r had farted the big stinky,,,,damn him!!
