I'm considering buying an exhaust system but wanted to do a little "research" first.

I have an 06 YZ450F and ride almost exclusively mx. What's your opinion on who offers the best combo of performance, price, reliability, bling factor, and sound levels?

Any links to a "shootout" would be nice. I've looked and looked but just like on big doubles, I keep coming up short.

I've had the best luck with a megabomb.....Im not sure about for a 450 but It really makes a noticeable gain on a KTM 250f .

If I were buying a new one..it would be this..

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Pro-Circuit-Ti-4R-Race-Exhaust-YZ-450-F-…

But if you are trying to keep the cost down... there are some good options, Like this..

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/WHITE-BROS-E2-EXHAUST-2006-YAMAHA-YZ450F…

http://cgi.ebay.com/WHITE-BROTHERS-E2-YZ450F-06_W0QQitemZ120377676028QQ…

I have a White Brothers Ti system on my bike and it made a big difference over the stock system, but it IS loud.
Here is mine..

Just how it looks in the pic.. It was just some dirt and a shadow. There is no dent at all there.

I've always been a huge fan of Pro Circuit systems, but there are a ton of really nice options out there. FMF is great as it DRD and White Bros. IMO, it is all about personal preference.

stay awaay from fmf, ive had bad luck with them, welds breakin, things coming apart.ive had a pc for 2 years now and it seems great. leo vince makes a great one if your looking for quiet. one of my friends has one and rides at a private track where sound is a issue with the 94 db insert and it still sounds good

They suck!! They hold back the power more than the stock exhaust system does for all the other brands

BTW, Racer your subframe is bent based on the tire marks on the exhaust.

That or a wheel is way out or you are running a 120 rear which I doubt and wouldn't understand why anyways.

BTW, I would keep the stock exhaust and spend the money on suspension, tires and practice!!!

What's that supposed to mean?

Something is still jacked up!!!

Factory bikes and components are always made better than off the shelf items. BTW...

Why so you can get 1 to 3 more horse out of a bike you can only ride at 60% of its ability?

Do you jet the bike every week for temperature, humidity and altitude as well?

It means exactly what I said...it's off a factory bike. It came off like that.

My old stock KTM 525 did that as well...first ride out and there were marks.

My son's old KX85 also used to do that.

It's not like its rubbing and smoking while riding. Under some conditions the exhaust flex's and can make contact. Just normal

Bullpen, have you looked at Thunder Alley, in Hanford? Really well made stuff, he even has megaphones available. He'll build it short if you want top-end, or long if you're looking for torque.

The owner's name is Bob, he's usually the one that answers the phone.

Just run the stock exhaust and save your money for tires. You can buy alot of tires for the price of full system. Aftermarket exhuast are a waste of money IMO.
