I have sold my old one and am looking for a newer one, doesn't have to be set-up already, but lot of the stuff I am finding on Craiglist, etc, .has insanely high miles and over priced and or not extended.

Would prefer Chevy / GMC, but would still consider Ford too, don't really care about year that much ( mid nineties and up ), just looking for lower miles and something that's not a rust bucket

I am trying to stay under 10K, and I would travel some for the right van.

If you know of anything let me know, thanks

I have a killer 2000 e350 Ford, 7.3 liter turbo diesel, extended model. 200k miles with zero issues. Fully set up for moto. Sounds like something you might be interested in we can talk more.
I bought a Sprinter and simply dont have a need for it anymore. I would love to see it go to a good home.
Custom paint, 20 inch wheels, Kicker system with two 12 inch subs, wheels chocks, S- track system in the floor, Trailer Brakes, rear door storage, plumbed w/ rear air, Full custom interior throughout, Real Carbon Dash Trim, Custom upholstery Seats, rubber floor mats, new brakes, fresh tires.......Zero rust!

I hear these stories all the time, but none of the diesels that I've owned or currently own, have ever gotten 25 MPG. I currently have an '05 Dodge Ram with the Cummings and am lucky to get 16 MPG.

It all depends on how you drive the Van. On the Hwy cruising with 2 bikes at 75mph I get 25 to 22 mph. I also have a 2014 Ram 2500 and i am averaging 12 mpg on that. Its funny how that works.

I've owned 5 ford diesels over the last 10 yrs. Here's the mileage I've gotten out of them....
1990 7.3 non turbo 19mpg
1997 7.3 22mpg
2001 7.3 21mpg
2005 6.0 16mpg
2014 6.7 13mpg
I wouldn't be to afraid to own an early 2000s 7.3 with 200k if it's been well cared for..... they do get pretty great mileage.

16 LML crew cab duramax, standard box. Best “50 mile average “ over the 25k I’ve put on it was 25.7mpg. Average 19-19.5 at 78mph on hilly northeast highways. Trucks bone stock, emissions intact. Even if you squeak a bit more mpg out of a diesel the fuel cost makes the difference a wash. All in all my cost per mile diesel vs gas is about equal, other than the upfront cost of the diesel which you always get on the resale end.

For what it's worth my favorite moto van of late has been my Nissan NV. It was better in almost every category, the interior room is just awesome. Only downside is you can't get it in an extended version, and some say they are ugly. I thought mine looked good

I think they look good, I have looked at one, they are super nice too, just no long ones which suck, plus doubt I could find one in my price range.

It was just bare inside when I got it but I did add the wall and 2 jumseats from a newer caravan. I could even fit a carseat in there if you look close. I could put 3 full size bikes in the back or 2 and everything needed for a full race weekend....i ran it bare with a wheelchock for a while but it was way better finished.

That doesn't look bad, I hate having the front so cramped that's why I want an extended one, but I am guessing the wall could maybe be few more inches back and bikes still fit too ?

Maybe I will see what kind of deals I can find on one of those, we bought a Nissan car brand new and put 240K on it and never had a single issue like Nothing, thing was bulletproof.

Was just cruising ebay looking at the nissans. 27k new or about 15k used with 70k miles or so. Not bad actually.

To answer your question I put the wall about as far back as you could and still fit a bike straight. I didn't want to get into trying to angle them to fit or anything. So I may have had about an inch to spare. For me the drivability won out over cab space, but if you want to try to sleep in there or fit real size people go extended. Hope that helps.
And yes the NVs seem to be pretty typically bulletproof Nissan.

My family is a bit nuts with diesels

Dad - 2002 F350 7.3, custom mapping, custom exhaust (downtubes on), different turbo wheel, upgraded injectors...500 HP and around 880 ftlbs of torque...and it gets 23-24 MPG

Mine - 2002 E350 7.3 (my moto van) swapped the rear gearing from 4.11s to 3.55s, custom straight pipe style exhaust...forgot the size...gets about 21-22 MPG

Moms - 2002 Ford Excursion 7.3 - chipped, larger tail portion of exhaust, swapped turbo wheel... 19MPG

i have a beater 2005 chevy express id sell for 2k it has rust but runs fine..
