I was going through some of the stuff my dad left me and came across a Breitling 1884 watch. Anybody know the value? Or how I can find out? I looked on Ebay etc and couldn't really find out much. Thanks for the help!

Got any pics or a good description? Is it an automatic, manual wind or quartz? Value depends on the model, condition, etc.

depends on the type of band too...breitlings can come with various types of bands it really can change the value...get it cleaned up and wear it! A nice watch like that will last generations.

Well, I'll put it this way. Breitlings sure aren't Timex, Casios or Seikos. Generally considered maybe just a stitch below a Rolex in the general pecking order. It's a good watch, IOW.

Ya I know that, I'm not looking to sell it. Its way to small for my taste though. I really don't ever think I would wear it. Thanks everybody for the replies.

It has the silver band. Heres a pic of it. I would love to wear it, just to small for me.

ha, I know the feeling. Find out if you decide to sell.
I tried to sell a pile of wifes gold jewelry for $75 on craigslist. no takers.
She went to jewelry store and they gave her $650!! Almost learned a hard lesson.

Worth $2000 to $3000 I would think. If you do want to sell it, find a local high end dealer that deals in used or consignment pieces. Here is a place that I know deals in higher end goods. Winston's Newport Jewelers 1775 Newport Blvd Ste B Costa Mesa, CA 92627 Phone: (949) 645-9000. I got a wonderful Revue Thommen there that was "used" and they had an amazing selection. Call them and ask them what it is worth since they deal in new and used watches and other jewelry.

Looks like a Breitling Chronomat with a Pilot bracelet. With the bracelet, I guess it would be worth in upwards of $2500. I think Leo Hamel in SD is a pretty reputable watch place. You may take it there for an appraisal.
