Less of a problem with longer lap time, takes longer to get to them. Example, lappers are less of a problem in mx than sx than ax. Do I get a cookie or a foot in the butt.

Although lappers tend to cause problems for race leaders which can result in a better race, so lappers may not be a problem from a spectators point of view.

didn't james say shorter laptimes equaled less lapping of the back markers? that sounded weird to me

It would seem that James is more of a fan of short cookie cutter tracks.

The only thing that makes sense to me is that the shorter laptime might mean it's a shorter track--which means the riders will be less spread out on the track and therefore might impact the racing more.

It does not matter if its 2 minutes or 1 minute lap times the rider needs to deal with the problem if he cant he is not a good rider. Lappers are part of the racing, sweet heart.
