Okay. Care to explain why? Saying "no lol" is not a means towards a constructive conversation. Why take the time to even reply?

That isn't what's happening. It's simply a pre-release gameplay video.

I know some are critical but I really love what I see in the latest gameplay video. Pacing, scale and speed is correct, nothing exaggerated, jump wise. There is braking as well as slowing down In corners and to do correct rhythms. It is far from being pinned everywhere which is something the competition has utterly failed at.

To me the whips look better...though that's pretty low on my priority...and it just looks very believable. No, it's not a straight sim but it looks very believable and pretty realistic. The simcade, authentic fully licensed experience I've waited for, for like, ever.

Stoked.

It always blows my mind why the body of the rider is so stiff, I mean his core body reacts to absolutely nothing on the track... is it immune to gravity and forces? this kind of subtle animations and movement would be one of the more simple things to implement and still it's left out..

Cooper in that video pins it across the flat and no aggression or movement is shown, his throttle arm doesn't even rotate, i cannot understand why these fundamental things are left out when they could make some of the biggest changes to gameplay. Even when he's sitting into a lip, no compression of the rider or anything. Baffles me.

Because coding and texturing movements of the human body is the single hardest thing to do in game design, and it's really limited by the engine you use to build it. It's also directly related to your budget for artists and designers dedicated to the movements of the person. I'm going to bet while Milestone obviously has a good budget they don't have the staff or technical expertise to match what you see in shooter games like COD. It's a case of doing the best you can with what you've got.

I'm not sure where I read this but I remember something was said about the Unreal Engine 4 platform. It was something along the lines of it's a very powerful engine and one of the best out there but it's not optimal when it comes to racing/car games and things had to be tweaked for this game or the Nordic game (perhaps both).

You do make a good point on budgets. With Monster being a title sponsor I have no doubt Milestone has a good budget but compared to the Call of Duty franchise it's peanuts. Those big AAA games are multi-billion dollar franchises. Like you said, they do the best they can with what they have. That said the Milestone team has come a very long ways in a short amount of time since they first released MUD. I haven't played their last couple of games but it looks like things improved with each game they have released.

In my opinion it's worth it to go out and pre-order/purchase this upcoming game and show them support.
This. Take a look at some FIM MUD gameplay, and then look at this. Milestones MX games have improved with each subsequent release. I love the fact that they have a relatively in-depth career mode and the deepest customization we've seen in a moto game so far. I can't wait to see what else these guys come out with.

New video. Longer. Whips don't look as good as video from day before yesterday but Milestone responded saying it's from exact same build. Depends upon skill level as well as who is controlling the game. So that's cool to have variances.

Couldn't get it to embed from phone. Maverick, help me out! Looks great. So excited! Thankful Milestone keeps pumping out videos.

My gut feeling is this video today may be either a less skilled player or possibly back on standard setting whereas yesterday may have been on pro. Hard to say. The previous shorter Webb video looked a little better but this one looks good, too. Things are coming together!!

First of all, that track says it's St Louis when it's the San Diego layout. Second, I'm not sure what's up with those rhythm sections. On the real track layout, the guys were takiing different rhythms through the rhythm sections. This video, the jumps are spread out creating a mandatory line(tripe, triple, triple). That's disappointing.

I liked to the rut formation and the graphics. The whips look to have potential if there was a good player controlling them.

As you can see from this picture, the jumps in the rhythm sections aren't spread out between triples like the video we just watched...

Milestone also stated the AI riders will be scrubbing as well and more lively on bike. They are still working on it.

Track maps change. They took maps from actual tracks not track maps. But hey, if that's a major complaint then I give up. The game isn't perfect but much more important things to tweak. No maps are perfect in console games. This is as close as we'll ever get.

im concerned that these tracks will not allow you to try new rhythms.... which is what basically supercross is lol

I'm not going to be too picky with their first sx game. Especially because it already looks awesome and I know each one will get better and better. I cant wait for this game to come out!!!

I cant wait for a sneak peek at the track editor. I want to see what guys come up with for tracks.

Anyone else ever make whoop tracks on Jeremy McGrath Supercross 98? One of the best things about that game was making your own tracks. I wish some of the other newer games had track editor

Yes but these are last years tracks that were already done. They went through the effort to make tracks off the layouts and real stadiums, why not match the layout with the stadium? It's not a huge complaint, just tedious, but seems unnecessary to not match the real maps to the stadium locations.

My biggest complain is spreading out the rhythm sections to force a mandatory line. That's really lame.

really hope ken roczen and ryan dungey are noticeably better than everyone else, always bothered me when the top guys don't dominate most of the time. Another thing I noticed was that the whoops need to be huge and this game could be 10x better

Im so ready for this new game, would be cool for them to incorporate tear off's like MUD did and the world of outlaw sprint car game (That game was sick on ps2). Wish we could get some footage of the career mode, but Feb can't come fast enough.

What's going on at the 20 second mark? A backfire?

This is San Diego 2017. I think someone just mislabelled the youtube video, nothing to get hysterical over. I also think the layout looks pretty close to last years track. This track is much more authentic and closer to the real event than the other attempt by Rainbow. Just look at the stadium! Let's be honest; comparing the two games, it's not even close. I don't think the game designers stretched out anything to create one line. Man, some of you guys work really hard complaining about made up stuff. What's next? Complaining about a spectator in white pants because it's after labor day?

I really hope this game has that fun factor, to keep you coming back. Sure, the track editor will surely give the game some longevity, but I hope the career mode has enough little details to keep you coming back for multiple seasons. Hopefully in future releases, there will be a career mode where you can race multiple seasons and build a legacy until deciding to retire. It would be cool to try and beat past champions records like Ricky Carmicheal and McGrath. But, there needs to be (in single player career mode) a mechanical and injury mode. Maybe you go down in a corner and your exhaust comes loose. Your bike is now louder and doesn't perform as well, but you still can finish the race. There need to be consequences for making a stupid decision, just like real supercross. Case a triple; you may break something on your bike or your body. Case the same triple every lap; you will. The more injuries you have, the shorter your career. So instead of a long career like Dungey, you have a shorter injury-riddled career like Canard. If you crash and injure yourself multiple times in a season, the game only lets you go three years and forces you into retirement. No lasting legacy.

Anyway, the game looks great so far.

I hate it when I'm out riding and I go down in a corner & blow off my silencer. Happens every time. I think that's why I retired early with Canard. We'll be hitting the golf course a lot this summer. Hopefully our backs hold up. Laughing

They absolutely stretched out the rhythm sections for this specific track, you can tell when comparing Seely's GoPro onboard with this gameplay. But I think this might just be one of the tracks where they just did a poor job replicating. They're usually good for a couple of those a game, same thing happened with MXGP3, so it's not that big of a deal. There will be plenty of tracks with accurate rhythm section lengths, like the old Las Vegas video.and the Minneapolis gameplay we had. PLUS, even with the "one lined" rhythm sections in this video, I can still pick out a couple fast lines that Coop is missing, so there will be plenty of room for the fast guys to be fast.

I probably should have been more clear. Maybe the tracks more stretched out; I'll take your word for it. What I meant was, the developer probably didn't stretch out sections solely to make the San Diego track one lined. I can see the Milestone meeting now "Hey track-maker Bobby, what the hell are you doing moron! There are too many line options in this rhythm section. Stretch this out, so everyone has to double, double and then triple. If I see anyone online doing anything different, you're fired!"

But, as far as the environment and track, so far they look pretty close, especially for a first attempt. They even have the metal supply building in there. Good stuff.

How do we know how much difference in scale the track is? The still photos show how much effort Milestone put into the scale version of this game. Comparing gopro of real pro (practically first person view) to a third person camera floating +5ft in the sky behind the game bike isn't exactly giving the same perspective to compare from. What a challenge this must be for Milestone to make fun gameplay and realism.

While I'm at it...I am just so happy to see gameplay that will allow some realistic style bar-banging. Someone complained when they saw the Webb gameplay with some rear brake sliding...well I say HELL YEAH to brake slides lol, because when a player comes up on the inside for a block pass at the next corner, that rear brake slide to cut down early is exactly what that fool will see me do to set him up for the next corner! Can't wait for this game!

I can see what others are saying about the rhythms. That's a little disappointing but I imagine it will be a little rough like the first MXGP entry. Track editor will be good though.
