I would love to get a bare pipe. So much maintenance. That pipe seems to be shiny. Is it clear coated with something that lasts that I am not aware of?

I was on the fence for many moons deciding what to purchase. I finally decided Husky.

But that was not the end of the decisions. Next was where to buy. I called all around (3 hr. drive) and got prices. The prices were all over the place. From $8479 to $7354. Price was not my only consideration. Percentage off on parts, friendly voice over the phone, distance from me and a general warm fuzzy the dealership gave me over the phone.

As I said before my local dealer is getting the Husky dealership. I waited for 2 weeks for them to give me a price. I really wanted to purchase local if I could. It just makes everything easier. As of this writing the LD does not have a dealer number, so they could not quote a price. I was worried that the TC250's would sell out & I would not be able to get one from the LD. Everyone that I called, IF they had one, only had just one in stock.

I sprang into action, and purchased from Beaver Creek Cycles, Lisbon, OH. A mom & pop operation since 1994. Husky, Beta & Gas Gas dealer. About 2.5 hours away. These peeps gave me a good price and the most important, a warm fuzzy. Lojacks was a close second choice. In the end, between the two, price was the deciding factor.

Probably my biggest decision was to buy local or not. I have never bought a new scoot from a dealer that was not local to me. I really wanted to. KTM is local to me. Husky will eventually be. Obviously Yamaha is too. Both local dealers, from our conversations, knew I wanted a Husky & they are OK with that. That was important to me because I wanted to keep the relationship that I had built over the past 40+ years to stay intact. Plus I wanted to keep the deep discount on parts that I have been getting for many years!

I want to thank all the above posters. Believe it or not, each of you were instrumental in the decision making process on which machine to purchase.

So who or where is the go-to-place for the Keihin conversion?

I have always used Carb Parts Warehouse for my vintage stuff. Have no clue for the latest bikes.

I still haven't decided but for now I'm keeping my yz 250. With all the carb issues I might go with a 350 and keep the yz 2 stroke. I'm gonna like one better than the other so time will tell.

I'm an SX250 guy all the way (on my 3rd one) but I'll be damned if I'm not glad that Yamaha still makes them and people are still buying them new.

Awesome bike. I was thinking about getting that or the KTM and ended up back with orange. Get the JD jet kit and install it and you'll be happy. I bought one with my '18 250SX knowing the jetting sucked and tried some stock jetting changed before I installed the kit. It was a night and day difference. I run 60:1 with straight C12 so you might have to adjust depending on what fuel you use. In my experience C12 tends to run on the rich side so this jetting worked perfect for that.

It would appear that your rear axle is in backwards on your sweet ass Yz 250.!

Yes...I have it like that on all my bikes. It doesn´t effect the purpose of the axle. I only got used to have it like that for many many years and it has stuck with me. I do it without even thinking about it these days Grinning
